Superhero movies have become the new rage over the past few years through movies and comics. The Guardians of the Galaxy is just one of the examples of a comic strip coming to the big screen and taking off like a rocket. People have fell in love with the on-screen team consisting of Starlord, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot, alongside villains like Yondu, Nebula, Ronin, and Ego. Even people that are not fans of superheroes have grown to like the story line and characters. They are both entertaining to people all around the world, but one will sometimes surpass the other in popularity. The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are more entertaining than the comics because of the character appearance, story lines, and popularity. The movie provides …show more content…
In the comics Starlord’s is the son of J’Son of Spartax and earth woman Meredith Quill. His dad left earth to fight in a war and his mom was killed by two Badoo soldiers. In the comics Groot is a very intelligent creature. He has a very wide vocabulary and has graduate level intellect. Yondu is the original leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics. He is also a hero in the comics. In the movie Starlord’s father is Ego, who is a living planet that can take human form for travel and exploration purposes. Ego became his father for the movie because he is more well known. Also fighting an entire living planet would be a more exciting story line for the audience to enjoy. In the movie Meredith was killed by a disease that Ego gave her so he could leave Earth without attachments. This added another branch to the exciting story line that made the final fight more entertaining. In the movie Groot has a three-word vocabulary which is “I am Groot”. He is still intelligent but can only speak with three words. Groot is a beloved character in the movie because of he does everything with saying only “I am Groot”. He dances, fights, and makes jokes with only those three words which makes the movie more entertaining, while having the entire audience laugh with his funny antics. Yondu is the leader of a ravenger crew and is a villain until the end of the second movie. Making Yondu a villain added depth to the story line by giving another villain to fight that eventually becomes a sidekick. It adds a twist to the story line that makes it more entertaining. Making Yondu a leader of a ravenger team makes a different story line that no one knows what is up next., making for some excitement and curiosity. The story lines are changed for entertainment, audience connection, and to add more depth to an already big story
For fans of any novel, it is disappointing to find out its film adaption is sometimes nothing at all like the book. In Douglas Adams’ 1979 novel, A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, he writes and portrays a multitude of hilarious situations as well as characters. John Singleton directs A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie version in 2005. Most people realize directors take creative liberty in relation to a novel and do not always produce the movie exactly like how readers imagine it, which in turn affects people’s perceptions of the movie. A few main differences between Douglas Adams’ A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novel and John Singleton’s film version are Arthur’s character development, the team’s relationship with the Vogons, and
Hercules was a semi-God from ancient Greek mythology. He was recognized for his courage, bravery, strength and sexuality. He isn't exactly remembered for his intelligence, but he sometimes was described as not being very witty. (Mythology Study Guide)
Kevin Feige explained, "People have been asking me that for 15 years. In 2001, 2002, 2003 there were two Marvel Studios' films, three Marvel movies, and I still feel sure of the truth of the same thing, which is as long as the ones that we can control are as good as they can be, that's all that I care about. I think we've been doing pretty well. I showed confidence in the films we've declared that we have come forward that they're going to be surprising and different and being the only one of its kind. I've said a lot: I don't believe in the comic book genre. I don't believe in the superhero genre. I believe that each of our movies can be very unique."
He is courageous, noble and generous, and at the same time is also kind. He does not flee from battle; he leaps into it, knowing his great strength, so he can help those around him and purge the world from evil. He also evolves as a hero - at the end he fights the dragon as a necessity; there is no other way to save his people, and saving them was very important to him, good king as he was; but at the beginning, a great portion of his motivation was his ambitiousness and need for revenge. We can see this evolution, from young to old, from hungry for glory to wise and doing what’s best for his people. But we can also see that he remained a good, humble, moral person throughout his whole life, thus being a great example and a perfect role model for everyone reading the
During those ages when we are just a little kid, we dreamt to be a superhero that could protect the world from being attacked or destroyed by enemies. We always worship to the superheroes that we liked when we watch the superheroes movies. Not only that, we also even act as them by using a scarf, tie on our necks and crazy around with our friends. Recently, I adored with two kinds of superhero movies after I watched them. Those movies are The Kick-Ass 2 and The X-Men 2 which mainly attract teenager’s attention nowadays when they plan to watch a movie. However, there are many differences between these two superheroes movie that we could see from their abilities, costume, and even their operation when they fight criminal.
Marvel has been releasing blockbuster after blockbuster for over the last decade. Marvel movies have action, a great story line, and even some comedy. Some of my favorite movies that Marvel has released are: the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Amazing Spiderman. DC movies, on the other hand, are awful and boring. Most of them don’t have a story line, they’re slow in telling the superheros story, and they aren’t based off the comics. Some disappointing DC movies that I thought would be great but weren’t: Green Lantern, Man of Steel, and the Dark Knight Rises. While the future of Marvel movies are looking bright (Dr. Strange, Captain America 3), the DC movies will probably crash and burn (Batman vs Superman, Suicide
The Book Thief The novel, “The Book Thief” written by Markus Zusak, is a sad love story. It dates back to the late 1930s to 1940s in Germany during World War II. The story contains a young boy and a girl who meet on the street. He noticed her first on the street, it was love at first sight for Rudy. Over time a special bond is formed, but their time to live is limited.
As humans, we make up stories to entertain ourselves. For hundreds of years these stories were written down in books, but with the advent of new technologies, these stories can now be expressed with film. Books and films both tell a story, but a movie can express the story in a very different way. With camera movements, lighting, and score, filmmakers have a wider range of tools to use than authors. When a book is made into a film, it keeps some elements from the original and undergoes changes, in addition to being expressed further with film techniques.
“You make sure they remember, FOREVER, the night they played the Titans!” Too many events were changed, or even never happened when the team was training at the football camp. Racism was brought to an extreme at T.C. Williams High School unlike the real life events. Players, coaches, and fans were changed and added to a point where they could be considered different people. Due to there being more differences than similarities with the real story and the movie, Remember the Titans should most definitely not use the phrase “Based on a True Story.”
The Book thief tells the story of a young German girl named Liesel. Liesel sees her brother die in front of her and end up getting adopted by Hans and Rosa Hubermann. While struggling to deal with the lost of her brother, the reality of Nazi Germany and trying to hide a jewish man in her basement, she finds comfort in stealing books and sharing them with others. The Book Thief book by Markus Zusak is better than the Book Thief movie directed by Brian Percival. The narrative character poorly uses the narrator Death. The details the removed took away from the effectiveness of the plot. The set designed was unrealistic and poorly designed.
Every child in the United States has heard or read the Marvel and DC comics books. If you have not then you have probably have heard of their characters like the famous star spangled hero, Captain America, or the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Both Marvel and DC has influenced the children and adults of American in its darkest times. The great wars affected many by its poisonous grasps, and its victims sought comfort with the antidote provided by the marvelous illustrators and writers of comic books. Now their cinematic counterparts are here to inspire the 21st century. The Marvel and DC cinematic universes have similar content, they both have unique characteristics that set them apart.
Have you ever read a book and then watched the movie and saw many differences? Well you can also find lots of similarities. In the book “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and the movie “Tom and Huck” there are many similarities and differences having to do with the characters personalities, the setting, the characters relationships with one another and the events that take place.
The Golden Age of Comics was perhaps the greatest era in comic book history. Many people loved the comics during this time period because they were all stories about good triumphing over evil. Many of these stories reflected over historical events over the time period. “Pro-American characters were popular due to the time period occuring mostly during World War II.” (PBS)
Among the highest-grossing movies of all time are numerous landmark films, such as Titanic, Avatar, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Taking their place alongside these cultural touchstones are mammoth blockbusters of a new breed: action-packed superhero epics. Each year, the number of superhero movies due for release seems to grow exponentially. One glance at a list of upcoming movies for this year reveals that the box office is absolutely saturated with superhero films. Some highly-anticipated installments feature heroes already well-acquainted with the big screen, such as Captain America and the X-Men, while others are introducing relatively unfamiliar characters to contemporary movie-going audiences, as in the cases of Doctor Strange and
