Just like Phil in the movie having to relive the same day over and over again (groundhog day) there is also an incident just like that one that happened to one particular person. This day however was not groundhogs day, this day was Thanksgiving day. It all started on a wonderful Thursday morning, our unlucky victim that had to endure this time loop goes by the name of Mark. Mark wakes up early Thursday morning Nov. 26 in a rather agitated mood. “I hate Thanksgiving!” Mark thinks to himself as he climbs out the bed early that morning, while all of his family members are eager to start the day, Mark is wishing he could just lie in bed. Mark comes out his bedroom, “goodmorning” Mark’s mother says to him joyfully. “Hey mom”, says Mark in a rather …show more content…
Mark’s grandmother ask him to help set the table, Mark replies, “I don’t want to set the table, I don’t feel like all that work.” His Grandma ask Mark’s sister to help her set the table instead. Mark’s cousins, uncles, and relatives show up and Mark greets none of them, Mark sits at the table with an annoyed look on his face, he doesn’t want to make a plate, or speak to anyone, or be around anyone. While everyone is enjoying their food, conversing and discussing things, laughing and enjoying the day. Mark is just sitting there, Mark’s grandma ask everyone to announce what they’re thankful …show more content…
“I’m not thankful for anything”, says Mark, “I’m mad I had to get up early, I don’t want all these people over, I hate thanksgiving!” Everyone just goes back to eating, Mark’s mother tries to talk to him. “Why are you being so moody? Why can’t you be joyful on the day of your family coming together? “Mom!”, says Mark, “why do all the uncles and cousins have to come over? Why can’t it just be me, you and grandma?” “Your grandma loves her children too honey say his mother, I’m sorry you’re in such an agitated mood.” Mark goes to his bedroom, he doesn’t even spend the rest of the day with the family, he just goes to his bedroom, slams his door and jumps in his bed. As Mark lay in his bed with his face smothered in his pillow, blankets over his head. He thinks about how aggravated he is. Maybe I just need a nap thinks Mark to himself, he closes his eyes and goes to
Susie’s mother opened the door to let Molly, Susie’s babysitter, inside. Ten-month old Susie seemed happy to see Molly. Susie then observed her mother put her jacket on and Susie’s face turned from smiling to sad as she realized that her mother was going out. Molly had sat for Susie many times in the past month, and Susie had never reacted like this before. When Susie’s mother returned home, the sitter told her that Susie had cried until she knew that her mother had left and then they had a nice time playing with toys until she heard her mother’s key in the door. Then Susie began crying once again.
Then she saw a greasy china plate that had bread crumbs, cheese and sausage. The pungent of cheese made her stomach grumble. The man was very rude and insulted her because she couldn’t read. Then Frances headed home and on her way, she bumped into a girl with a nice, green, winter coat. She imagined her Ma in that coat, twirling around with a smile on her face. The girl’s mother said a rather offensive sentence about Frances and walked away with her daughter.
In the film “12 Angry Men”, several critical thinking skills are imposed in attempts to persuade the members of the jury to believe that the suspect is guilty or not guilty. To begin with, the word choice used in the film seems to be ambiguous in which the words used could have two completely different meanings. For example, a juror in the movie believes that the suspect is guilty all because he claims that “the way they are by nature” or “they are all alike”. This phrase is very vague without having a clear definition, meaning that it can be misinterpreted by others. These faulty statements don’t prove a point in regards to finding whether or not the defendant is guilty, as it is misleading.
While this invitation produced anxiety for every person that attended this meal, the toll that it took on my nephew was rather difficult to watch. His father chose to attend the day before Thanksgiving; but a half-hour before the scheduled 2 p.m. time for dinner, he let his son know that his girlfriend and her children had decided to come as well. While the adults scrambled to add additional seating, my nephew excitedly stood outside on the porch anticipating his guests’ arrival. An hour later, this little boy dejectedly wondered whether his father had changed his mind. When his guests finally arrived, we all ate an awkward, cold dinner, and my ex-brother-in-law whisked them all (including my nephew) away to his family’s Thanksgiving meal, which meant that my disappointed nephew never got to share the chocolate pie that he had helped make.
... I had never even seen most of the food displayed, I eagerly and respectfully tried each dish. After everyone in the room sat down at the massive table, the Rabbi picked up a glass of wine and made a prayer over it. Then, Rabbi Kanelsky passed around pieces of Challah bread to the entire table. This lunch festival was yet another ceremony dedicated to one of the member’s deceased relative. At the conclusion, the Rabbi said another prayer out loud for the deceased and the relative expressed his gratitude to everyone.
Arriving at Lacey’s house I walk to the backdoor letting myself into the house. Lacey was putting on tanning lotion in the kitchen, “Lacey,” I called to her, “my mom wants me to pick up snacks for the beach, do you want to go into town with me?”, “Sure,” she replied, “do you mind if my cousin comes with us?”, “Of course I don’t mind,“ I answered, “but we have to get moving, my dad only left me the car to use ‘til noon.”

One day after one of John’s football practices he came home to his mom complaining that he wasn’t feeling well at all and his head and right knee hurt. John’s mom Mary said “it was just a hot and hard day at practice that all, take a shower and go to bed. That
Asking oneself the question why can create deep thinking on the reason people do certain things and the reason they do it in a specific way or manner. “Marcellino! For the last time, PLEASE PASS THE SALAD DRESSING!,” my mother shouts to my dad jokingly. My oldest brother Marc, who has already finished his bowl of pasta, is signaling for his first refill of the night. Both my sisters are laughing hysterically at my dog, who has snatched my other brother 's chicken leg right out of his hand, and is now being chased around the kitchen while licking her chops and trying to scarf the bone down before being caught. This family dinner scene depicted was a normal part of my daily routine growing up. My family of seven made an effort to sit down once a day and eat a meal together. This provided a daily opportunity for meaningful conversations and the nurturing of close-knit relationships between my
“Come on in,” Uncle George yelled to my cousins, Terry and Savannah. On a cool November day, Thanksgiving to be exact, all of the women in my family were gathered in the kitchen preparing dinner. Aunt Debby was making yams and washing the collard greens before placing them in the pot to be cooked. Aunt May and Aunt Janet were working on the dressing and macaroni while all of the other women of the family are doing everything possible to make this festive holiday a success. “Turn the TV up and be quiet!” Uncle George was now grumpy! The McDonald’s Thanksgiving parade was broadcasting on the television and it is his favorite thing to watch the morning of Thanksgiving, but for the rest of the day the television would
The father of the bride, on the other hand, who is picking up the bill for dinner, is completely distraught. When he saw the guest list with addresses in Ireland, Egypt, the U.S.A., Scotland, as well as the four corners of England, he was delighted, since he felt sure that most of you wouldn't make the effort to turn up. It's to his credit that during his speech you would never have guessed he is in fact a broke, or rather a broken, man.
Cindy was in the kitchen making dinner, when the door bell rang ?Cindy go get the door!? shouted her aunt. Cindy took her apron off, and rushed to answer the door. Standing at the door was a servant from the palace with a paper in his hands, ?good day ms, the king ordered me to deliver an invitation to the ball? ?thanks? Cindy said taking the invitation and went to show her aunt. Her aunt and cousins were excited about the news, they went shopping the next day leaving Cindy alone in the house to do all the work, while they spent all her parents? money.
...y brother and took the dog out. I jumped into the shower and did a fast wash. I ran to my bedroom to get dressed and took a quick look at the clock. I had plenty of time. I got dressed, and I even changed my shirt twice because I could. I went down for breakfast and the coffee was ready. But, I was alone. My heart started racing. In my hurry to get ready, I did not notice that my mom and brother were not up. “Oh no”, I thought. I dashed to my mom’s room and yelled, “Get Up, Get Up!, you need to hurry or I am going to be late for school.” My mom looked at me and said, “Why are you in such a big rush today, when normally I cannot get you to open your eyes at this time?” I yelled, “Hurry or I am going to be tardy and get suspended.” My mom just smiled and pulled the covers over her head. As she did that, I could just hear her say, “Trace it is Saturday.”
