Being determined is one thing, but succeeding is another. You cannot succeed without a plan or goal to fall back on. This is how Gritty can comes into play. Grit is the official standard of pushing yourself and to have courage while doing what you do best. A growth mindset is believing what you can develop your intelligence and skills through effort and hard work. However, being gritty does help a person with a growth mindset. 46).g. In other words, Hanford meant other people might approach things differently depending on his/her advantages. Everyone in life cannot be gritty and succeed. When I was younger around the age of 8yrs, I joined the local swim team. I enjoyed swimming, it became natural for me to love. The youngest swimmer on my team, which was me treading through water like a great white shark, also holding my breath under the water like I had gills of a rainbow fish. After the swimming season was over, I didn’t attended back to my swimming program around years later. It’s been 7yrs later since I haven't swam for. So, I decided to join the swimming team again at the age of 15. This was a gigantic step for me. I was extremely horrible when I started off. Competition day was approaching quickly. As I continued to go practice I failed miserably. Practice was always done before you know it I never had enough practice. Competition day has arrived and it was my time to swim against swimmers that had been practicing for months now. I’m in lane 6. All you hear is (On Your Mark—Get Set-- Go). As I dived into the pool, I noticed that all hope was gone. They swam 4 laps around me while I was still on my second lap. My race had came to a halt. I came in 6th place out of 8th placed. Next week I went back to practice
