Dr. House is arrogant, rude, and considers all patients lying idiots. He will do anything, illegal or otherwise, to ensure that his patients get the investigation and treatment he knows they need. House disregards his patients’ autonomy whenever he deems it necessary. The series follows the life of anti-social, pain killer addict, witty and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House with only half a muscle in his right leg. He and his team of medical doctors try to cure very ill ordinary people. Most episodes start with a cold open somewhere outside the hospital, showing the events leading to the onset of symptoms for that week's patient. Whether it is the patient or the doctor, they each act as if they know what they’re doing. Dr. House and his team portray experienced diagnosticians whom, in the series, display a sense of knowledge towards the medical field and specifically that specialty. The patients also portray a sense of knowledge to the disease they are diagnosed with and know what they’re doing with the symptoms. Each and every case is presented with great detail. Without a good storyline, there is nothing to keep the viewers engaged and interested to keep watching. Each episode is performed so that any ordinary people can watch and understand the medical terminology that is being utilized, being a medical show. However, on the downside, the medical inaccuracy of the series plays a big issue in this series. Although the suspense and mystery of each case is engaging and is good entertainment, the symptoms and disease do not correlate. Although very few deaths happen, they keep the audience engaged by slowly killing off a character then bringing the back at the end of the show. This allows the viewer to keep watching until the very end. For example, on the 3rd season’s episode “Informed Consent” the team struggles to diagnose a famous scientist who is refusing treatment.
