Event 1: Social: Greek Multicultural Days Who: Brothers of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and other multicultural Greek organizations on campus. What: Convention of brothers and sisters from chapters of the Greek organizations on campus and from the area, filled with events like step competitions etc. ultimately culminating in a unified Greek party. When: Spring Where: Old Chapel or CPH Why: All too often it appears that a lot of the Greek organization, although mutual friends, in everyday life they do not host events together and thus I believe by bring together not only organization on campus, but also in the area it can create a greater community if multicultural Greek organizations could eventual unite and work together in …show more content…

Event 2: Social: La Fiesta Hispano de Bloque Who: Schenectady and Campus What: A block party in Schenectady emphasizing events for children When: Spring or Summer Where: Roger Hull St. Why: It will help connect the campus and the community while also allowing students the opportunity to interact and give back to the city of Schenectady which welcomes students. Also this will help bring the community together to learn about and celebrate Latin American culture and its characteristics. How: We could request donations from local businesses in the community, receive a permit from the city of Schenectady to host such event, and advertise throughout the community at the YMCA, local Boys and Girls clubs, and other community centers.

Event 3: Philanthropic: Dance/Karaoke Night Who: Campus What: Dance/Karaoke competition When: Wednesday night Where: Memorial Chapel Why: Can charge a fee to enter to watch the event or have performers get sponsored by other fellow students or faculty. Throughout the night we could circulate a raffle, which all proceeds for the night would benefit …show more content…

How: We could contact local restaurants and ask them to donate food or we could request money from an organization on campus to purchase the food. The tables and other necessary furniture could be provided by Union College.

Event 5: Academic: Dinner and discussion with a professor on Latin American. Who: Professor: Lorraine Cox What: Discussion of Latin American art during the 19th and 20th century When: Evening Where: Minerva Why: Enlighten the campus community and expose various aspects of Latin American culture that which are presented in the art. How: No necessary funding would be needed accept to fund the dinner, of which could be sponsor by the Minerva that we have the dinner and discussion in.

Event 6: Academic: Invite a migrant worker to campus to present. Who: Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa What: A presentation on the journey from a migrant worker to a renown neurosurgeon. When: Wednesday Evening Where: Nott
