Maths and physics have always fascinated me and from an early age I knew that it was in the science based subjects that my interests and greatest ability lay. Although I have enjoyed the challenge that my school-based work has given me, I have always sought to extend my knowledge in these subject areas by considering the application of the theory we learn within the curriculum to the real world.
This desire to learn how theory can be applied in real life allowed me to greatly enjoy the mechanics modules of my further maths A-level to such a degree that I knew that engineering would be the ideal subject to study at the highest level. While physics and maths give one the background skills needed to assure the validity of innovation and technology,

The time management skills gained through this will be vital in being able to successfully achieve high standards during a challenging university course. Over the past year I have taken time to be an assistant sports teacher for young children, while I have also enjoyed the demands of being a form assistant to a first year class at school. Not only have these positions allowed me to mature greatly, they have also aided my inter-personal skills. Though I hold the certificates of my academic successes I am fully aware that only it is only in combination with my logic, problem-solving and intuitive skills that my scholastic knowledge can be applied most effectively.
During a gap year I am keen to find, through the Year in Industry scheme, a long term placement with an engineering firm. By spending my time in this way, I believe that I will gain a far greater idea of engineering's place and importance in society. The opportunity to mature and learn key skills will give me a far better stance from which to start a degree course. Aside from working, I am also hoping to travel during my gap year to gain a greater awareness of the world around me through interaction with new people, places and
For years now it’s been my dream to attend Melbourne High School. My two cousins have attended the school in the past five years and I’ve heard how enriching being part of the MHS community can be. They have both become excellent role models for me and now I wish to experience being part of the school’s tradition for myself.
Since my first visit at the Air Force Academy as a young boy, I instantly realized this is where I want to go. Ironically, I never why I wanted to go, was it my parents will or the expectations of others and myself? As I started to mature and grow, I learned more about the academy and what it really meant to become a cadet. The opportunity to have a world class education pushed me to pursue acceptance to the Academy. Going to the Summer Seminar will give me a chance to explore many aspects of cadet life to further enrich my interest in the Academy.
I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
Stricken with rickets, attention deficit disorder, a severed facial nerve, and being voted "most likely to end up in the electric chair" by his fifth grade class, this individual triumphed over many obstacles. As an aspiring writer and actor he was rejected as an extra in the film The Godfather and was persuaded to switch careers for more realistic goals. Sparks of genius were recognized in his script writing, but he was told only legitimate actors would have a chance at performing the title roles.
I was born into a traditional Hispanic family in Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States. This conventional family pattern follows a patriarchal hierarchy in which the father is the head of the household and responsible for all major decisions for the family.

My A-level studies are Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Design Technology. I have always been fascinated by numbers and this interest is continuing, hence my choices in A-level subjects. I enjoy the application of Mathematics to Physics. In Design Technology I can be creative and at the same time use my knowledge of Mathematics and Physics to help solve problems.
I have always been someone that is afraid to fail. From such an early age as I can remember I didn’t like to be the loser in games or get questions wrong on my school work. To me failure meant that you weren’t good enough. My parents never really taught me otherwise. I don’t think my parents really felt that they had to go over failure with me even through college. I encountered many coaches throughout my soccer career and I was always the outstanding player on the team. I was used to winning, winning in games and in the classrooms.
Working during a gap year is the perfect time to build up savings before beginning at a university. Establishing a good work ethic can lead to good study habits. Not only can working provide someone with valuable experiences, it can also improve a resume.
I developed an aptitude for problem-solving during my younger years, an attribute that became an integral part of my identity: the result of indulging in Sudoku on the daily newspaper. Naturally, I gravitated towards mathematics, developing an intellectual and academic interest in math. As an avid math enthusiast, I spend most of my free time on numberphile, a math channel, gaining insight into new and old perplexing math concepts; currently, the most intriguing are the infinite series. Exposure to different aspects of math inspired me to develop a theorem or prove a conjecture and thus I undertook further mathematics at A-levels to familiarise myself with higher level mathematics and attain preparation for the mental strain required to take
Engineering and science are the major evolving fields in the world. This text concentrates on comparing and contrasting the two terms in detail.
The purpose of education should be rather to teach us how to think than what to think, how to enhance our minds, and how to enable us to think for ourselves than to heap up the memory with the ideas. Education is my strength and I have immense proclivity towards it. APPRENTICESHIP: Hailing from a family of academicians, I bear the virtue of receiving standard education from reputed schools in the city. I completed my schooling from P. Obul Reddy Public School with 89.6% aggregate topping science and math subjects, both being my favourite subjects. I had the basic computer courses during high school and was elated to know that at its foundation, Computer Science as well is a formulation of math from a different perspective.
The purpose of this letter is to apply for admission to the International Relations program of the [INSERT UNIVERSITY HERE] for the Fall 2011 session. I had begun my undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005 pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. During these times, I had taken courses focusing on various subjects. After having completed 100 credits, I gained admission to the VCU Dental School but I had decided to leave the dental school to pursue my true passion in international politics. My first encounter with politics happened in 2005 when I took part in a rally for Kuwaiti women’s right to vote in the parliamentary elections. I have always believed strongly in women's right to vote, and I even joined a national committee to advocate this worthwhile case. The results of our advocacy had been substantial and Kuwaiti women had received their right to vote in May 2005. Aside from this, I also joined various committees which have been fighting against the political money corruption during Kuwaiti parliamentary elections. Thus, these involvements have whetted my appetite to be a part of the political arena.
