The practical assignment consisted of effectively producing and presenting a style and adaptation that I have selected based on my image of a leading organization that I have researched and would like to seek employment. The assignment required me to project manage the production of the two styles and produce photographic evidence to be presented in a portfolio, including both original and digitally enhanced images. The entire Graded Unit is for the purpose of showing that I have learned and achieved all aspects of HNC hairdressing. SMART Plan When looking at my SMART plan, my main goal was to complete the practical performance of the graded unit so that I could continue with the next stages and complete the assignment. I was to meet my goal …show more content…
It consisted of a time schedule detailing my plans in order of what I was going to do that day. I wrote a rough action plan of what I wanted to do for the practical performance before I had met up with my model. After meeting her and taking test cuttings of her hair, it was clear that I would need to carry out a colour correction and therefore change my action plan. I also made small changes to how I planned to do my adaptation and so I applied this to the action plan too. Once I had made the changes, I had greater clarity and understanding of exactly what I was going to do and the amount of time I had to do it. I followed my action exactly as I had written it and this allowed me to manage my time effectively and even finish earlier than expected. I consider my action plan as being of great benefit to me as it prevented me from straying from my plans and therefore avoiding any failings during the practical performance. I felt my action plan helped me to feel calm in a situation where I might have felt under pressure due to time constraints. Knowing what I was going to do and how long I had to do it, gave me sufficient control and I could therefore project manage the practical performance of the Graded Unit. I find that the action plan is a great way to help me analyze how well I could project manage and carry out the practical performance as I can review the plans that I made and if I followed them and stayed on schedule or whether I needed to make any changes. If changes were to be made on the day, the action plan would have helped me to stay calm by listing everything I wanted to achieve without forgetting
The book is not just about history of black hair. It contains quotes and information from a huge wealth of black hair resources, as well as political context of black hair styles and textures and why black hair comes in so many different textures. On styling of black hair: In Hair Story (2002), the authors write about some of black hair styles, including the West African manner of wearing their hair in braid or wrap to the current and most popular hair styles: weaves, natural hair and chemical hair straightening by black people- a style considered as imitating "white" hairstyles. Byrd and Tharps (2010) ".. the goal of grooming the hair had morphed from the elaborate and symbolic designs of Africa into an imitation of White styles adapted to Black kinks and curls. Both women and men were interested in straightening their hair because straight European hair was held up as the beauty ideal.

The term Wesleyan Quadrilateral is a theological method used to study scripture. It was believed that theologian John Wesley studied scriptures in the Bible using three lenses, hence where the Wesleyan Quadrilateral gets its name. These three lenses are tradition, reason, and experience. While quad means four and tradition, reason, and experience are only three terms, they each communicate a way that scripture can be studied, therefore the term scripture completes the quadrilateral. It is important to study scripture using the Wesleyan Quadrilateral because Wesley was known as being a relevant theologian and his views on scripture have lasted over two centuries. The Wesleyan quadrilateral is still relevant today as it provides a method for discovering the things of God, ourselves, and lets us know who God really is. For the purposes of this reflection paper I would like to summarize the four components of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral and then reflect personally upon each term as how it relates to the Christian theologian.
My goal is to work in the fashion-merchandising field as a fashion director or so-called fashion coordinator, who has marketing expertise, works for a television production company, a fashion magazine, or runway shows (Fashion School, n.d). To become a professional fashion coordinator, one should go through a few programs such as two years of associate degree, four years of bachelor’s degree, and advanced post studies like master’s degree program. For a fashion coordinator, higher educational degrees are highly recommended for greater opportunities for high-paying, upper-level positions, and plenty of experience (Swain, n.d). Involving in the fashion industry, one will face a different range of problems that vary from workplace to society. Because fashion requires one will work with different personality types, it is essential to deal on ways of better managing their multi-tasks and
I instinctively squeeze my eyes shut. The distinctive odor of chemicals and the sweet aroma of coconut oil intermix in the air and the monotone sound of scissors and clippers fill my ears and the warm water streaming down my scalp overwhelm my senses. Once again I’m sitting up in my chair and before me are stacks of hair magazines filled with minority women modeling bold or day-to-day hairstyles. Optimistically flipping through the pages of one of the magazines, I stop mid way through, “This one,” I say assertively while I use my thumb to point to the women modeling a braided updo. My stylist smiled and nodded at me and walked to the other side of the salon to retrieve all the supplies that she’ll need.
1. Develop the plan, which involves selecting • Objective and measurable occupation- focused goals and related time frames;
Finally, I’ve learned the importance of looking ahead on the schedule to make decisions. The point of looking at upcoming activities is a good practice for a PM to make sure he/she will be ready when times come. By analyzing two to three periods ahead, I was able to anticipate and keep track of my resources and spending especially in periods where parallel tasks were executed. It wasn’t a perfect 10/10 hindsight but still useful.
A- Act based on the result. Were you successful in accomplishing the desired change? Were the results different from what you expected? Review the outcomes of the PDCA cycle and modify the improvement process based on the knowledge that you have gained. Return to the Plan phase and repeat the cycle until the goals, original or modified, have been achieved (Deming,
Plan of action: my plan is to stick to the plan and not let anything get in my way of changing what I am trying to achieve.
As Schermerhorn states in Management planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are the tools needed by managers to accomplish performance goals. It is crucial that managers be able to recognize and act upon problems or opportunities as they arise. Planning is perhaps the cornerstone of the four processes. All good processes were at some point given great detail so as to anticipate possible problems and solutions to those problems. When the Honda Motor Company decided it needed to refine its inventory they didn't just jump at the first idea that was proposed; they first set their objectives and discussed ways to meet those objectives. After giving careful consideration to processes and the streamlining of those processes human error rose as the top need for change. Sounds simple you might respond; in reality it is much more complicated.
A strong and effective leadership, where there is trust and tolerance between all stakeholders, promotes a culture where individuals are encouraged to take on greater risks and deliver significant results on students ' motivational state during the teaching and learning process. Through leading by example, the foundations for successful change management, implementation and embedding are paved. Only authentic leaders can turn a vision into reality. This results from engaging followership, who, in turn, deliver meaningful and lasting change. According to Flood 's (2010) view, action research can benefit from a system’s perspective because it reminds us that we are "in relationship" with others. In this changing context, the head of the panel who planned the change action is also involved in implementing and acting towards the change. The four moments(is this correct terminology? Maybe consider ‘processes’ or ‘stages’) of the action research cycle are applied in this planning. The action researchers break the general plan into a number achievable steps namely: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. Meanwhile, reconnaissance is completed before the planning phase to give teachers a vivid description of the circumstances of the field and fact finding (I don’t think this needs paraphrasing) of those conditions. Eliciting feedback from both colleagues and the students is crucial as
1. The assignment I felt was most useful was the reflective story telling activity. This was my favorite because it gave me the opportunity to step into other student’s shoes, and experience something either similar or different as far as facing sterotypes. It was a great experience because we don’t realize no matter what race you are we all face adversity.
When it came to Assessment task 1A; I completed week 1 of the workbook which was the wellness survey to determine what my strengths and weaknesses were for my wellness. It came to my attention that I struggled to participate in moderately intense exercise on most days of the week. After discovering this I then started to plan an appropriate SMART goal that I thought I would be able to achieve by the end of the semester. My SMART goal that I came up with was to wake up at 7am each morning and participate in moderate exercise for 30mins alternating between going for a walk around my area and on the beach. I knew that thi...
I attempted to be as detailed as possible with the hair design. As a viewer, a few questions popped into my head as I studied the hair: why is the hairstyle asymmetrical, how is the hair designed created, and was this hairstyle meant to be in a three-dimensional view. These questions allowed me to become as detailed as possible to help the viewer discover details they may have missed from their cursory glance. I had a hard time finding why the hairstyle was created to look stiff and asymmetrical, so I merely focused on describing the hairstyle in a three-hundred and sixty degrees
Information that is usually covered by these updates includes accomplishments, goals, and conflicts. Aside from those details, team members also include information on what they observe in the workplace as well as their performance. These assessment details serve as the bases in establishing a concrete plan, which should possess specificity, measurability, attainability, realty, and time-boundedness. The formulated plan serves as the backbone for laying down the actions to be implemented by the team. Then, the team can also include brief status of the outcomes from previous tasks performed.
