1. The assignment I felt was most useful was the reflective story telling activity. This was my favorite because it gave me the opportunity to step into other student’s shoes, and experience something either similar or different as far as facing sterotypes. It was a great experience because we don’t realize no matter what race you are we all face adversity. 2. The dolphin exercise because it gave us the opportunity to see two different sides that were both pretty reasonable, and come up with an argument to prove your side is correct. It was a competitive debate that gave students the chance to practice their “lawyer” skills in a classroom setting. 3. I feel like every assignment we had this semester benefiting me in some type of way. I can’t
My initial thought about this painting is that it seems to be incorrect. The reflection in the mirror shows that the lady is looking in the direction of the man standing in front of her. If the lady is looking at the man their reflections should not be off to the side. The second observation is the lady is sad or disappointed and is looking past the man standing in front of her. My last observation is there are three sections from left to right; bottles and the audience, the lady, and the reflections of the lady and man. The most interesting concept about this artwork is how the reflections seem to be inaccurate. If the bottles and the reflections of the lady and the man standing in front of her are at an angle, then why are the vertical lines perpendicular to each other?
Overall, this college would provide a good education with three of my most beloved and favoured subjects for my career goals/interest. So, my keen interests are my three picked courses that have the grade requirements that I am available to overcome and exceed. Also, this college is very close to my location (7 Hadley Croft, B66 1DP) and provides a bus service in Oldbury and West Bromwich, which is a perfect combination to travel to this college. Overall, there won’t be any worry or difficulty of reaching Halesowen College thus this place forms to be an excellent place for me to continue my education for Year 12 and Year 13.
Assignment 3A reflective letter allowed me to express how the process went when writing my research paper. Writing this letter also allowed me to know what could have been done differently when writing the research essay and future assignments. Another assignment that allowed me to reflect on my writing process over time was the Literary Narrative. For this assignment I created a poem about my reading and writing process from the age three years old until now. I enjoyed this assignment and was able to share my creative writing style while expressing how much I value reading and writing
The practical assignment consisted of effectively producing and presenting a style and adaptation that I have selected based on my image of a leading organization that I have researched and would like to seek employment. The assignment required me to project manage the production of the two styles and produce photographic evidence to be presented in a portfolio, including both original and digitally enhanced images. The entire Graded Unit is for the purpose of showing that I have learned and achieved all aspects of HNC hairdressing.
The course pushed me to find my inner creativity and express myself in my writings. Each day I was assigned a journal topic that I had the
Most of the readings in the class focused on civically engaged activity that helped me to reflect on my personal and other people efforts to bring changes in society and the world. Through class readings I learned on what people are doing, and why are they doing certain activities or action in the society. The readings assisted me to reflect more on my journey about the past and the future. I reflected on the 11 years I lived in Brazil as a volunteer missionary, giving service to the marginalized. I testified the unjust system that hinders the poor and favor the rich or people of power. Some of the readings like
Have you had to write a story? Have you had to write an essay? Have you had to write a research report on a specific topic or a persuasive essay persuading the reader? These types of writing all have a purpose and they can be similar and different in many ways. Write down some ways they are similar and different.
... am to get a halfway decent grade. So, I started it up and felt confident that I was going to get it done.
The Annotated Bibliography was an extremely important assignment for me. I had to find four sources and put them in MLA format. We had to pick a topic and in my case it was racism in school. These sources as my teacher said would be the basis of my Works Cited page for my Concept paper. The research from my Annotated Bibliography helped me easily write my concept paper.
The assignments given in English 101 were very interesting for me. I think that the course layout couldn’t have been better. There were a few assignments that I found interesting. In particular, I found the article by Malcolm Gladwell, “Offensive Play” to be really interesting. It was relatable to me because I used to play a lot of sports and now I invest a lot of time watching high contact sports such as football and it is intriguing to see the “behind the scenes” aspect of the game. However that being said, I did not really like writing the summary of this article. I found it difficul...
A course assignment that had the most impact on me was my 9th grade Extended Research Project in history. This project required that I perform academic research on a subject, in my case Woodrow Wilson, and then perform a 15 minute presentation on it in front of the school after having written an 8 paragraph essay. This was my first major assignment in high school and my teacher had relatively high standards for the class. This flows into the teacher that had the most impact on me, who is Eric Bright, my high school history teacher. He had high standards for his course and coursework, which challenged me and allowed me to become a better writer and approach history and historical documents from a much more analytical perspective. We would spend
...ew it in different perspectives. The outcomes were surprisingly insightful and greatly enhance my contribution towards the development of our business plan. It allows me to look back on what has been done and learned from what did or did not work out. In other words, it helped me to see both the positivity as well as the negativity in our ideas and thus stimulate improvements. This assignment also cultivated a sense of team spirit through teamwork and boost creativity through the development of thinking outside the box. Therefore, this assignment has definitely aid my knowledge in developing skills such as writing up comprehensive critical reflection and evaluating the risks of certain business ideas. Aside from that, I have also managed to deal with people from different cultural background through teamwork and develop unique business ideas and market strategies.
When we were first given this assignment I had not put much consideration into it. I thought we were to ask a couple of questions, it would all work itself out and I would be done. But this was not the case. The thought and reflection put into interview questions really surprised me. There was far more factors other than the questions you were asking, because you were also dealing with people, people who are giving you there free time, their attention and opening themselves up to you a stranger, so there were far more responsibilities then what were initially at hand.
For me, sense of place and people without people were the most challenging assignments this semester, but it also allowed me to me creative. Aside from the photo story, this assignment allowed me to be original and open-minded. Remaining within the guidelines, I had the freedom to create completely my own vision. Although I listened and observed during the sense of place lecture, I was still unsure what to do. Afterwards, I reviewed the slides but I still did not have an idea. Simultaneously working on the photo story and work for other classes, I did not think about the sense of place or people without people assignment until the first critique.
I think the school is taking the “easy road” and doesn’t want to be liable for anything therefore they make all these rules that prohibit anyone on campus to have fun. The campus is becoming more and more unbearable by the moment. On the weekends it is so boring there is no one here except a whole lot of public safety. That is why people enjoy them selves and use substances, but the university doesn’t look at any of these aspects realistically. The university is living in the 1950’s and very ideal 1950’s at that. The policies are so dated it isn’t funny. Not being able to have a member of the opposite sex in your suite sounds like something out of a Mormon school. What is the university afraid of…………that the kids (I mean to say students but that how the university looks at them) are going to have sex? The students are all 18 and over who cares. It isn’t like the kids can’t have sex before 2 am and after 10 am. That’s such a weak rule and position. I cant even come up with a reason why they made that one other than to reign down on the students with a little life inhibiting catholic morality which in itself is rather foolish. But back to the alcohol rule…that’s just there because the university doesn’t feel like being responsible for students who are drunk. That’s college and there is no way they will stop it so I think the university should decriminalize it. It should be if you’re under 21 you should be written up. Why wait until your in graduate school to let someone drink. I will be a 21-year-old junior and your going to tell me I can’t drink. That’s not agreeing with me.
