ecker A.P. Government 13 October 2017 Government Affairs Director Political Science is a field of study that focuses on local, state, national, and international government or political affairs. Whether it be a member of the House of Representatives or a county sheriff, a variety of jobs fall under this field of study. Three jobs that stand out from this career are Criminal Investigator, Litigation Manager, and Government Affairs Director. A Criminal Investigator analyzes any evidence or data recovered from crime scenes and assists in the development of the investigation. A Litigation Manager is required to know about an organization’s services in order to provide advice to any legal assistants who are included in any persecuting cases. …show more content…

According to (bls.gov), the projected growth for this field is actually a decline of two percent from 2014-2024. The job outlook for a Government Affairs Director is a six percent increase from 2014-2024 according to (study.com). Factors that would influence this decline would be the current administration. The people avoid becoming involved in politics or any form of government for the duration of the terms because they disagree with decisions being made. Also, the lack of trust people have for the government means less interest in pursuing any Political Science careers. However, an increase in specifically Government Affairs Director could be influenced by organizations who want leaders to create change among their relationship with the federal or state government. As the leader, a G.A.D is required to attend state legislatures and oppose or support the legislation on behalf of the group. Opinions on policies, new laws, regulations, and the industry in general are given by the Director as well. As the face of the group, making decisions about what happens within the organization and what they stand for falls on that person. Other tasks a G.A.D is required to do is figure out ways to increase awareness of the group and find fundings for it. The more well-known it is, the better because there will be an increase on the amount of money being funded which supports the organization. After stating opinions and sharing them with the organization, the Director publicizes what the group supports or where they stand to the public. The Director also has basic tasks such as filling out paperwork for meetings, interviews, funding, and other events that the organization may be involved in as
