GoPro company is slowly becoming one of the best know names when it comes to outdoor adventure gear amount thrill seekers and adventurers. GoPros are small wearable high definition digital cameras that can be put on helmets to take videos of what the user is doing. This product is especially expanding with all the social media usage that has increased over the past ten years and the new technology that keeps coming out. Part of the brand experience for GoPros is now the ability to immediately upload your video to social media sites allowing the company to build their brand even more.
One of the ways GoPro has chosen to market its product is by completely letting go and embracing all the different ways the brand is used and experienced. This marketing strategy has played a big role in the company’s success. GoPro chooses to promote its product by using its customer’s videos and not censoring it at all. This has made its popularity soar as thousands of videos are posted online daily and a new YouTube GoPro customer video comes out on their page every day. The company also works with consumers to create more professionally produced content for their site but its still all purely consumer content.
One of the huge risks of uploading consumer content though is the company has no control of what the users upload. Some of the videos that are posted are inappropriate, offensive, boring or just stupid. One would think that GoPro would shy away from or try to censor some of these videos so their public image doesn’t get tarnished. GoPro, however, still allows these what other companies would consider risky videos online and trusts that customers will be able to make its own decision about the brand.

For Christian consumers the marketing strategy of posting all the videos may not reach out to that group as well as others. In conclusion, I talked about why the use of body cameras is necessary. Body cameras are an unbiased piece of equipment that can be used to hold everyone accountable for their actions. Studies have shown that the use of body cameras reduces the amount of police misconduct and overall unnecessary harm to people. Although some cops have been proven guilty of misconduct, not all police officers are bad. Body cameras can also highlight the good things done by our law enforcement. These things will help build trust back into our law enforcement and make our country a better place.
