Google is surpassing the search engine industry rapidly. Google creators Larry Page and Sergey Brin could not imagine 8 years ago that they would dominate the search tool industry. Google’s dominance has set the standards for all their competitors to emulate. For Google to continue the dominance, they must create a successful marketing strategy and must be to implement their plan effectively. To compete in this the global technology world, Google must evolve through innovation and adaptation to their audience.
To do this, Google must start with implementation, strategic control, and contingency plans. According to Pearce & Robinson, 2011 “Implementation is “where the action is.” It is the arena that most students enter at the start of their business careers. It is the strategic phase in which staying close to the customer, achieving competitive advantage, and pursuing excellence become realities.”

According to Google’s website, “Google’s mission is to organize the worlds’ information and make it universally assessable useful.” To implement this objective, has to concentrate on increasing their employee base. By expanding their workforce, they will be prepared for the upcoming growth in this industry. The next goal is to become more prominent in the international market. Through expansion and innovation, this will help enter the international market. The next goal is to utilize their employee base to help deliver new advertising and products.

According to the textbook, the four building blocks of competitive advantage are efficiency, quality, innovation, and customer responsiveness. Google’s performance in all of these categories supersedes its competitors in the internet information provider industry. With regards to efficiency, with Google, it starts with the infrastructure. Learning effects are a large part of efficiency-enhancing practices. Google is always educating its employees on the newest technology, which increases productivity and makes employees more efficient at tasks they perform.
Google, which generates almost all of its revenue from advertising sales, have focused their attentions to these markets with unlimited potential. Google executives anticipate as its presence in foreign countries expands so will the growth of the company and eventually the bottom line. Some of the latest data on Google's financial status is that it receives a little less than two-thirds of all revenue domestically. This data is slated to change dramatically as overseas operations grow. One of the factors that have allowed Google to experience such successful growth is that the popularity of the brand was dispersed through word of mouth rather than expensive advertising dollars. With the populations in foreign markets much larger than in the Unites States it looks like a formula for success. However, what has been a formula for success in the United States does not always translate to success in other parts of the world.
The Google company has engaged the controlling location and position in its industry since the launching due to its unique product which is a result of its unparalleled working location. Google has moved out on to achieve the largest share of online searching engine as it affords its users with a product that is difficulty exchanged even though there are a lot of challengers. By analyzing and examining the internal and external environment of the company, it is obvious that Google company is running un efficient machine, giving attention to the most of customers and it ensure that it offers a quick and reliable product to its customers.
