Macbeth is a play, written by Shakespeare, about a soldier who is overtaken by ambition. The soldier, Macbeth, starts out as a loyal soldier who fights for Scotland. As the play progresses, Macbeth becomes more and more evil, killing whoever is a threat to him. Evil overtakes good for Macbeth. One of the themes from Macbeth is good versus evil. Macbeth is a good, honorable soldier in the beginning who is loyal to the king. Macbeth does not stay on the good side for very long in the play. At the beginning, the witches say that fair is foul, and foul is fair, foreshadowing what is to come later. The witches’ line that says “fair is foul, and foul is fair” means that what is good is evil and what is evil is good. Though Macbeth is skilled for fighting and has won battles for Scotland, he has a difficult time battling his internal conflicts between good and evil. Macbeth is first introduced to this internal conflict when the witches give him a prophecy. The witches tell him that he will be the Thane of Cawdor and then become king after that. When he finds out that he is the Thane of Cawdor, he sees that the witches’ prophecy is right. He then thinks about how he will become king. Macbeth’s conscience bothers him after he thinks about the ways he can become king. Banquo is also given a prophecy from the witches about him being the father of many kings. He does not face internal conflict due to evil thoughts like Macbeth has been faced with. Macbeth begins to become ambitious not too long after the witches’ prophecy. He does not want to wait to become king. Lady Macbeth influences him to kill Duncan so Macbeth can become king. Macbeth does not want to kill Duncan at first. He says “if chance will have me King, why, chance may crown me... ... middle of paper ... ...ity. Kim Jong Un could face prosecution for crimes against humanity. The conflict between the United Nations and Kim Jong Un symbolizes the conflict between good and evil. Macbeth starts out with good intentions but later on he ends up with evil ambition. There are people who will do anything to keep the power they have like Macbeth. Though people saw Macbeth to be an honorable person, he turned out to be a perfidious, disloyal killer who would do whatever it took to remain as king. The good versus evil theme was a theme that involved much conflict. There are many current events where good must go up against evil, and more of these events will occur. Works Cited Madison Park. Kim Jong Il's legacy is a heavy one to bare, not much is truly known about him in all honesty. His life began in secrecy and the rest of his life continued from there never to seemingly ever get better. An extreme dictator who commanded the obedience and love of all who lived in his kingdom may be seen as a vicious tyrant to all of those away from him, but in the eyes of the North Koreans, he will always be their Dear Leader and his sons and future grandsons will carry on the brutal regime that encompasses North Korea.

Little is known about North Korea except for news stories concerning international terrorism, nuclear arms threats, and prison camps. From space, North Korea is shrouded in darkness like the history that surrounds this country. This is due to the nation's strict closed-country policy: not many outsiders have visited there and not many North Koreans have traveled to the outside world. While little action can be taken to help the North Korean people, action taken by the United Nations is crucial. Recently, United Nations human rights investigators issued a horrific report documenting massive human rights violations in North Korea. The United Nations feels these crimes of humanity should be brought to the International Criminal Court. UN members work to "promote and encourage respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion” (Youth For Human Rights). North Korea unlike any other country in the world cannot be reported on fully because of regulations on people entering its boundaries.
North Korea is notorious as the “Hermit Kingdom”. Defensive and secretive to the point of paranoia, its history as well as its present conditions remains shrouded in mystery. What little we do know can be murky at best. The central govern...
Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is a story of a tragic hero with a level of high degree, but where his actions fall short and effect the fate of his nation at large. This man who was being rewarded by King Duncan for his loyalty and courage in defending the Scottish realm, and managed to turn into a murdering, power hungry monster, simply by saying, someday you’ll be king.

North Korea has a tendency to give harsh punishments to even minor offences. A man of the name Kim Joo II lived in North Korea his entire life and at a young age he had already experienced things that will scar one for life such as witnessing a public execution by the age of 10. This is a short story written by Kim about a class experience. “In my class, two boys were rivals. One was annoyed that the other was doing well, so he borrowed his textbook, which had a portrait of Kim Il-sung on it. He drew a small, funny mark on the portrait, and then gave it back. They found the mark when they checked the book, and the family of the first boy disappeared overnight.” Kim II-sung was the prior leader to Kim Jong un and both of them share similar
North Korea’s extremist actions cannot be excused as simply maintaining homeland security. Instead, North Korea has gone and created a dictatorship where citizens are ruthlessly controlled and isolated to avoid the inward or outward spread of facts contrary to the claims of the imperial Kim family. The brainwashing, restrictions on freedom and communication, and exile from the outside world have created a society in which North Korea’s citizens have lost their basic human rights.

Considering that there is sufficient evidence of the cruelty in the prison camps, it is time for the international community to address a plan of action for the North Korean victims instead of avoiding the problem in fear of the wrath of Kim Jong Un. North Korea has repeatedly failed to cooperate with the United Nations and remains preposterously stubborn concerning any communication with outside countries besides their ally, China. Because the North Korean
Some issues and violations include food shortages, inhumane treatment, torture, executions, and political prisoner camps. Prior to this report, few people were aware of the human rights violations in North Korea because it was not as highly publicized as other violations in other states, and simply because North Korea is such a closed off state. The civilians in North Korea are living, but they are living only to survive, not living to enjoy life. They are not living normal lives because a chance of a normal life was stripped away from them a long time ago and the grim fact is that they may never get a chance to experience what the rest of the world experiences. The North Koreans cannot even leave the state to visit their relatives in South Korea. They have no access to the new technologies and internet access that their South Korean counterparts have. More importantly, they have limited food and resources. They are put in a vulnerable situation because of what their leader tells them.
