To begin with, Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare that believed to have taken place around 1606. This play dramatizes the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of those who seek power for ones’ sake. In this play a Scottish General named Macbeth receives predictions from three witches that voice him he will one day become the King of Scotland. With determination his wife takes action convincing him to murder King Duncan therefore he would become king. Macbeth then becomes paranoid and filled with guilt, forcing him to commit more murders to protect himself from suspicion. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth then receive the madness of death. The reason I felt this song to be an adequate representation of this act is because in Act 3, Scene 3, Banquo states” Thou must revenge, o’slave! (Dies)” (Line 17 Pg.368). To support this statement from Banquo are the following lyrics: “And another one gone, and another one gone” these lyrics and this statement means another person died and there is many more to come. To further support this song selection in Act 3, Scene 3, The Third Murder states “There’s but one down” (Line 20, Pg.368). To support this text are the following lyrics: “Another one bites the dust”. This statement explains how another one is down. In Act 3, Scene 4, Macbeth makes the statement: “Thou art the best O’th’ cutthroats. Yet he’s good that did the like for Fleance; if thou didst it, thou art the nonpareil” (Lines 18-20, Pg.368). This passage explains that if Fleance would not have escaped, then they could have tragically hurt him as well. The reason I felt this would be an adequate representation of this act is because in Act 4, Scene 3, Malcom Speaks the statement “Greif that does not speak, whispers the O’er-fraut heart and bids it break” (Line 209-210, Pg.395). This statement's meaning is Greif that is silent whispers the most hurtful when saying goodbye to your lover. The following lyrics support this statement: “Goodbye my lover/Goodbye my friend/You have been the one/You have been the one for me”. In Act 4, Scene3 Macduff says “I shall do so; but I must also feel it as a man I cannot but remember such things were that were most precious to me. Did heaven look on and would not take their part? Sinful Macduff, they were all struck for thee, Naught that I am not for their own dements but for mine fell slaughter on their souls, Heaven rest them now” (Line 220-226, Pg.395). To further support this statement are the following lyrics: ‘And I will bear my soul in time/When I’m kneeling at your feet”.
