Each team has players on it that can be stressful, but good teammates put that past them and will still offer help and respect. Once everyone knows that a certain player respects people, they will start to give them a reputation of a good teammate and a good person (Mcclain). This is definitely the type of reputation that people want to have. When other players know they have good teammates that are respectful, they will begin to tell them personal information. Good team members have to be able to keep valuable information to themselves because they are being trusted. Even if it is hard to do, telling the coach that someone else is a better fit for the situation is putting the team first. Everyone wants to play a role in the success that a team has, but putting the team first is more important. Tanner Glass, who is a professional hockey player states, “"I said it when I went in: 'We have a lot of depth on this team and a lot of players who bring different elements,' " Glass said. "Depending on the lineup that night, and who the coaches see fit to help us that night, we're getting behind those guys. Hopefully it's a long run here and I'll get another chance" (2017 NHL Playoffs). Even professional hockey players think about the team first. Playing hockey is a job for them, and they still think about what is best for the team. It is very obvious that Glass is a good teammate. Glass told the coach that a different player was a better fit for the situation, and even though it meant that Glass wouldn’t play it was best for the team. This shows that being a good teammate might affect certain things, but it will never go unnoticed to anyone. Good teammates make everything click within a team because of all of the characteristics that they have. Putting the team first is very hard to do for a person because there is someone else out there playing. However, once a person has down the characteristic of putting the team first, they are truly a good
I do have some personal experience being apart of a team , and trust me when i say it's worth every minute of it. If you are on a team it's more than likely your teammates are going to want to and be willing to help you through anything ,and want to better you not only academically but personally. There will always be a risk of harm in all aspects of life but in my experience team members aren't just going to let each other get hurt . They are going to make sure that everyone is same and if needed wearing all of their safety gear and

Playing football has given me the opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships that will last a lifetime. Those friendships are made in the hot summer workouts, when everyone is tired, hot, and thinking about giving up, teammates are right by their side motivating them. After a brutal beginning of the season players are scraped and bruised and during mid-season practices, some players may think that the team doesn’t have any chance at being in the playoffs. Teammates unite together and remind each other that if everyone works together, everything will fall into place. A good team involves also being in good physical shape. Players are banged up and have little annoying pains, but that doesn’t stop a good team so the conditioning doesn’t stop. Everyone has to do it, but being on a team that helps motivate each other, it helps the pain feel more tolerable. In any sport you will be thrown into rigorous situations and being with your teammates and sticking together through it all will not only make the team better, it also will help bring you closer to your
From looking at what makes up a team player, it is easy to see what a team player is not. To be a team player, one cannot be selfish or need recognition for one’s individual accomplishments. In not being selfish, a team player will always put the needs of others ahead of his/her own needs. Therefore, not needing recognition for one’s accomplishments is the strong point of the team player; he/she only expresses pleasure when the team as a whole is successful.
The components of a good team should be considered. First, a high-performance team must have strong core values to guide attitudes and behavior consistent with the team's purpose. The members should know why the team is created and why he or she is on the team. Secondly, a team should have specific performance objectives. Members should know exactly what they are trying to accomplish. This also includes having standards for measuring results and ways of obtaining performance feedback. A good team will make members realize the importance of collective efforts. Third, a high-performance team has the right mix of skills. These involve technical, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. No one needs to know how to do it all, but each member should be able to contribute to the group....
Everyone who participates with the team should trust or learn to trust each other. Along with trust, which may be even more important, is respect. Performance is vital in any business, so before acting on any project, a high-performance team will have to create a thorough plan.

A team is a group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete a project. Team members work toward a common goal. Participating in a team sport can increase one’s self esteem. By being part of a team, you will give and receive praise.
