Globalization is a process whereby international integration which is derived from the exchange of world opinions or views, ideas, products and various national cultures. Human communities all over the world have aggressively established closer ties over the years and grown faster recently. Globalization itself could be broken down to four major sectors; Globalization of the Economy, Globalization of Politics, Globalization of Culture and Globalization of Law. The dictionary does describe Globalization also as “… the act of extending to other or all parts of world”. This worldwide integration and development as seen by others is as positive as it could be in many ways. Whether it being positive or negative depends on the politics that it spreads upon. Since the politics of Globalization allows the free flow of markets, goods and services easily across the globe, Liberalism comes in play allowing an extensively open market. Individuals who chase their economic dreams are allowed to flourish and succeed for the good and benefit of the consumers and the producers exactly as the “the fable of the bees” and Adam Smith’s idea of the “invincible hands” tells us. Individuals acting in their selfish ways economically is a whole betterment of the society. This being said, does not mean we completely throw away the “Marxist” ideas as the real purpose of globalization is to help all mankind and to create a better world for all humans. The selfishness and greed of multinational corporations and individuals who indulge in this worldwide wide economy has to be somewhat controlled. This is where communism would have won. But to reward every individual and his or her hard work must utterly be recognized. The merger of both political systems, the Liberal free-market system and Communism I believe are the pathways to make globalization a much more if not perfect attribute to the survival our planet and mankind. I believe the fusion of both political systems would provide the best response to the growing cons of globalization. The biggest challenge in regards to globalization are environmental challenges. Challenges such as the reduction and if possible the complete desistence from fossil fuel, which can be achieved by strong political and governmental willingness on behalf the whole community and the earth as a whole. Reducing or controlling the extent to which Multinational corporations exploit under developed societies and communities would only be achieved under a communist ideology, where humans are pertained to be equal.
