'The process of art making has finally caught up with modern times. It has become synchronized with the rest of modern society, where everything from objects to peoples identities are assembled from ready made parts' (Manovich, 2010) These applications diminish the value of the true experimental avant-garde aspect of glitch and instead applies these values in a more socially experimental fashion. For glitch to be normalized in the first place is always going to threaten the basic fundamentals of the style, but the way in which it is happening with this easily obtainable poser level of its identity being paraded as it has recently been doing, is an even greater risk as many peoples first exposure to glitch is now through a diluted weakened …show more content…

One way to explore this idea further is to look into where Glitch fits into popular culture and what it really represents to its audience or in the eyes/mind of the artist. The world is now a faster paced and a more varied place than it ever has been before. There are now different religions, cultures, aesthetic styles, and multiple types of media all living amongst each other and over lapping before our eyes everyday. This means its hard to find yourself in an environment where you're being exposed to a pure singular source of culture, the majority of the time you find yourself bombarded by an array of clashing mis-matched aspects of the worlds many cultures. In [FIG] below you see a multitude of different signs and pieces of information all within very close proximity to one another, not to mention the stacked living spaces of the Kowloon walled city in Hong Kong crammed in above them. This is one of the more extreme examples of a dense varied location but there are clear and undeniable visual similarities between this image and the one below of a piece created by Glitch artist know as Hellocatfood
