Gregory Aumiller 7-2 6th hour 3-27-2018 Georg Philipp Telemann was a German composer born March 14 in 1861. He was born in Brandenburg, Germany. Telemann was the son of a protestant minister and even though he got a good general education he was never given music lessons. Though he showed great musical potential he was discouraged by his family from becoming a professional musician. Telemann persevered and through an extraordinary amount of self teaching he taught himself to play a multitude of instruments. In 1701 he enrolled in the University of Leipzig as a law student, but his musical abilities eventually influenced him to pursue becoming a composer. Leipzig eventually became Telemann’s stepping stone to becoming a composer. The
