Research Question: Why is genetic modification of food more widely accepted in the public eye than genetic modification on humans?

Freedman talks mainly about the effects of GM foods on human health and the safety of this technology that we can expand. He elaborates talking about the benefits and worries of genetically modified food on human health by showing both sides of the argument. His argument is that there are many risks and benefits for the expanded deployment and safety testing of GM crops. Key specifically talks about the uses of GM foods and how harmful and helpful it can be to the environment and human health. Key’s argument is that genetic modification has many uses in our society but the general public remains largely unaware of what GM foods have to offer including two main areas of concern that have emerged which are risks to the environment and risks to human health. Key’s piece is not biased because she states both sides of the argument by listing the advantages and disadvantages of GMO’s on the environment and human health. Key is not on a particular side of the argument because she doesn’t leave any key information out of the article. This source has changed the way I think about genetic modification because it showed me the many effect it can have on human health and the environment weather it’d be negative or positive. Lallanilla specifically points out the the safety, politics and the overall uses of GM foods around the world. Her argument is that genetic modification of food can both be helpful and harmful to the world. She does this by providing facts to show what genetic modification can do to many types of foods. Lallanilla’s article is not biased because she shows both sides of the argument by providing examples of the negative and positive effects of GM foods. Lallanilla does not have a specific side on the argument but instead clearly shows both sides of the argument to the reader and leaves out nothing to avoid being biased. This article has aided me to recognize the many doors that GM foods can open in this world. This source helped me shape my argument by providing many positive examples of GM foods that I can use in my paper.
