Gang Violence
The man on the corner of the sidewalk with all his boys is what most people think of a gang. Being disrespectful to people walking by on the street is what some kids are going to do. Gang members are going to try and make a lasting impression on younger kids. They want to look and act cool to draw them into a whole group of illegal activities. It has always been a problem with gangs influencing kids to do the crime.
The gangs try to embellish their lifestyle with the cars, clothes, and the women. The younger kids see the money and want to do the same things the gangs do. The violence of gangs spills over to the younger side as well. When young children start to see violence in a gang the image is always two things; death or jail. Gangs are controversial in certain ways; the gang has many different ways to recruit the young people.
The problem is not always the gang, children who have an unstable home life. The kids without a strong parental figure in the house hold fall into the gang life style. Gang members tell the young kids that they love them and that they will be there for them. When in all truth they will leave them to take the fall for the crime. The child goes to jail and the gang member is back on the street gathering more innocent kids to their crimes for them.
Gangs have a major influence on the children in low income families. This paper will depict how gangs influence children into the dangerous lifestyle. The paper will argue the different viewpoints of other individuals on this subject.

...omeboy Industries, one of the largest gang intervention programs in the U.S., not just creates jobs for former gang members but also provides them counseling, legal aid, educational programs and services (Newman). All gang members are not bad people, some are trying to turn their life around and help the younger generation. They go to schools and speak to the youth and try and keep them away from the gang life style because it is not a glorified life to live. The older members see the wrong that they committed and are trying to keep the children from making the same mistake. This is one of the many ways people are trying to break the control that gang have on our young people.
The increased availability of guns, and the likelihood that gang members involved in drug trafficking are likely to carry a weapon, means that guns are now a regular part of gang violence (
