Per the attached guidance the ending balance of GLAC 741 should be zero each month. The guidance states that if it is not equal to zero, then it is due to the inventory being counted incorrectly, loss or theft, or the transferring of kegs from one location and department to another without submitting paperwork to transfer the cooperage as well. However, the guidance does not state how the variance should be handled. Both Fort Lee and Fort Rucker have had an ongoing problem of GLAC 741 not zeroing out each month. We have made multiple attempts to help the garrison to remedy the problem, but the garrisons have not been able to correct the problem.
