Full-time vs. Part-time Students
There are many similarities and differences between full and part-time students. Each student is trying for the goal of educating themselves to become more successful in life. As students begin their education there is a sense of motivation and eagerness. Knowing the possible compensations and honor that comes with this achievement. There can be a feeling of tension and uncertainty that comes with this new adventure. If an individual does not become discarded, and is willing to except the challenge of this feat, there is no limit to the success one can attain in their life. Students receive their degree at different times in their lives depending on their finances, responsibilities and time restraints.
Full-time students are generally younger, and just out of high school. Full-time students must take a minimum number of courses, generally 12 or more semester hours. They normally have a set semester schedule of daytime or nighttime classes to choose from. They are often eligible for financial aid, or work-study programs because of the higher cost for a higher education. They may also receive a number of scholarships to help pay for their education. Full-time students usually do not have a family or as many outside responsibilities. They usually only have a part-time job and still live at home with their parents. The time restraints that full-time students have are homework, studying and fitting their job schedule into their school schedule. ...

In fact, student parents are half as likely to be enrolled full-time as dependent students. Nearly two-thirds (65.8 percent) of student parents enroll part-time, compared to 30 percent of dependent students. Additionally, 29 percent of student parents have enrolled less than half-time (often defined as taking fewer than two courses) for at least one month out of the school year. The latter is significant, as less than half-time enrollment in particular can reduce the amount of financial aid for which a student is eligible. (Huelsman, 2013) Part-time students are less likely to complete a degree once enrolled and more likely to withdraw from college altogether, and student parents who attend part-time are even less likely to complete (Huelsman, 2013).
The stereotypical version of the normal life of a teenager proceeding to college would include high academic standards met throughout their high school career and outstanding outside testing scores resulting in automatic entry into the institution of their choice. Many of these individuals have the support of their accomplished family members in the form of financial support. There are those who have not had the luxuries of any easy upbringing but forced to decide between a life with a college degree or full-time employment. For myself I want to have it all and to achieve that I have taken on both.

The story was obviously told in either the early 1900’s or mid to late 1800’s. It seemed to take place in a urban colonial English speaking area, probably in America or Britain. A way to tell that the story took place in the past, was the value of money. In the story the value of money was quite high, with $21 being able to buy a good quality chain for a watch. As well, nowadays, watches are almost never on chains, except for maybe those in high-class, which the characters definitely weren’t. lso, hair is not usually sold, more often donated. If it is sold, that much with as good as quality as the story described would have been worth more money if it was the same money value as today 's.

Support can help adult students returning to school. A study was conducted to reflect the impact of attending a weekend course on family and work loads (Kirby, Biever, Martinez, & Gomez (2004). Students with a higher level of support from family and their employers experienced accomplishment from the coursework. The knowledge they attained, such as time management, was useful in family life as well as their work life. The study also determined that schools should give some focus to the adult student returning to school and the different set of support they would require. More colleges now offer non traditional programs for older students (Gearon, 2008). The adult student brings a new level of experience to the classroom. These type of students

Self-motivation, self-discipline, time management, and the ability to prioritize are all essential ingredients to graduate successfully. As a single working mother of two kids it is crucial for me to understand where my time is going. The concept of going back to college seemed a little far-stretched, but in today’s economy and job market, it is necessary. I am a mother who leads by example; therefore it is a top priority of mine to balance life and the time commitment to the program as this is a long term investment.
Before deciding which type of education is best for you, you have to look at the availability of time you have. Time management is important when you are determining which education is right for you. A lot of students choose online education because they have a lot of things they have to do. With online education balance plays a big part when juggling responsibilities like work, family, school, etc. A lot of single mothers go online to get an education maintain a flexible schedule to do all the things they need to do.
