Identity is multi sided, meaning it is built up from many traits that then form an identity. Good morning Mr Joliffe and class. Everyone has different identities, individual to themselves. It is our experiences through our life that cause our identity to never remain static. Today I will be exploring these concepts through the graphic novel Frankenstein by Gris Grimly published in 2013 and Thriller the music video by Michael Jackson, filmed in 1982. Both texts share the insights of how society accepts you based solely on appearance and betrayal, thus relating to how your identity is formed. When he tries to become friends with the old man he succeeds because the old man is blind so he is unable to judge people by their looks and needs to get to know them by their personality. The children then come home and see the monster in their house so they begin to scream at him to get out of their house before they even got to meet him because he isn't the most pleasant thing to look at. This is ironic that they just throw him out of their house before letting him explain to them why he is there in the first place. The gutters of this page are black to show loss and sadness. Capturing this scene through the use of a comic strip is useful to the audience because they get to see the encapsulated emotions of the characters. For the course of the film Thriller you also are revealed to other ways that you can be accepted into society based upon your looks. During the scene where Michael and his girlfriend are in the movie theatre, you can see that everyone sitting around Michael is looking scared and is gasping at the movie and Michael just sits there with the biggest grin on his face, enjoying the movie. This scene of the film is dark to express the eeriness of the audience in the theatre. When Michael turns into a werewolf in the movie that everyone is watching they suddenly all become scared because people are afraid of what they think they know of the unknown.
