Forrest Gump

This movie portrays the life of Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) a simple man from Greenbow, Alabama in the USA. The movie starts with Forrest sitting at a bus stop and telling passers by the story of his life. Forrest explains how he met and fell in love with Jenny Curran (Robin Wright ). He also tells us how he had leg braces as a child and how he met Elvis and showed him a dance move for which he became famous. Despite the fact that Forrest has a learning disability he gets into the University of Alabama on an athletic scholarship. After college he joins the army and he goes to war where he meets Benjamin Buford Blue, nicknamed Bubba they talk about owning a shrimping boat when the war is over.

The feather was then picked up by the male lead who slotted it into one of the pages of a book titled Curious George. This book held special memories for Forrest as his mother often read stories to him during his childhood. Such action has prompted us to think of the exact meaning of it. He quoted from his mother that life is always filled with unpredictability and there is no certainty. His ability to embrace changes and accept truth as well as near death experiences such as being part of the war makes him an attractive person; who is unique in many ways.

People can recall the Archetype of a “fool”; which is often used to describe a person who theoretically accepts the serendipity and unpredictability of life by his or her own way. In addition, the person is more tolerant of various events and situations while not being judgmental. Also, he or she can embrace changes easily rather than grumbling to others. This can be said of Forrest Gump. He appears to be a person unaffected by others’ prejudice, discrimination and judgment. He does not see a need for any form of intervention or trying to have control over
