In the novel, In Cold Blood, Truman Capote sculpts a plot that leaves the reader with a dark, tingling sensation of suspense despite the reader’s foreknowledge of events. Capote commences the passage with a brief detailing of Mr. Bell, painting a backdrop to the grand masterpiece.
