My passion towards Mechanical Engineering started in my seventh class. I was introduced to the world of physics by a Sir who taught physics very interestingly by giving real life examples and making us to think rather than just applying mere formulas. Thanks to his way of teaching, I started enjoying Physics in my own way and creating virtual problems. With that interest, I chose Mechanical Engineering in my under graduation. This wonderful course introduced me to subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Applied Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, and Automobile Engineering which are a few special interests of mine. I would like to share some information on my educational background and what I have achieved so far. Throughout my education, I have always managed to stay as an excellent student for every institution I studied in, including my Bachelors program at ‘Deccan College of Engineering And Technology (DCET)’. My fascination towards the course helped me greatly in understanding the concepts behind the courses that I took and made me realise the working of the real world. The very fortunate thing ever happened to me was that I had a very good early education which helped me a lot in the following time i.e., during and after my schooling. As I grew up also did my interests, at first Mathematics was the only topic which always dominated my interests but later on my interests made a shift on to the field of sciences mainly Physical Sciences with the introduction of many interesting topics in it. That was the time since which the inception of my interest in the field of sciences begun. Learning had become the key part of my life since then.
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. A versatile individual and an ardent learner in all my chosen fields is how I perceive myself today. My childhood provided me a strong base of integrity and honesty upon which I have built a diverse skill set and a strong commitment to success. I opted for civil engineering as my undergraduate major at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, where my knowledge was enhanced by studying courses on Transportation Engineering and thus my liking for this field become much stronger. All of these are great ideas that have different eras in history, but they all have something in common, these creations were all invented by engineers. Do not get the misconception that engineers have been around since the dawn of time but the concept of engineering itself has. Those great revolutionaries all had ideas and solved problems which are still qualities that engineers of this day and age use. Webster defines engineering as, “the work of designing and creating large structures or new products or systems by using scientific methods.” Those people created new products so they would today be considered engineers, but they are slightly different. What makes them different is the field that they would be considered a part of. The broadest one of the oldest forms is mechanical engineering, which is my future profession.
