America’s newfound favorite pastime, football, came from a bizarre chain of events. Football started when a soccer player got fed up with just kicking the ball, so he picked up the ball and ran to the goal. His actions of picking up the ball and running with it fathered a new European sport, rugby, which was soon brought over to American shores, and was altered slightly, the shape of the ball and a few other small rules. The sport became organized into a league and produced the NFL(National Football League). The NFL had a slow beginning, but has picked up popularity, currently having a $9 billion yearly revenue.

Why should 12-14 year old girls be able to wear their school provided cheerleading uniform to school? You open the closet trying to find something to wear to school, but then you remember that tight, uncomfortable outfit that you have to wear to school that day. Your cheerleading uniform! You want to run away but you already know that you have to wear it or face the consequences (even if that means getting kicked off the team!). Twelve through fourteen-year-old girls should not be able to wear cheer uniforms to school. There are many complaints about the uniforms that girls are forced to wear. Some complain that they are very uncomfortable especially during the cold and windy weather. It’s like they are in prison! Students have clothes that express them in detail, color, or even style. People should never be separated from what they like, and schools should definitely
In the 1950’s, the NFL came across another addition to the helmet as Cleveland Brown’s first Head Coach, Paul Brown came up with the one-bar facemask in the middle of a game after his starting quarterback, Otto Graham took a hit to the face. The other NFL teams soon followed Brown’s design and Brown patented it and is known as the BT-5. Riddell took Brown’s invention into production. Shortly after, facemasks were worn by every player in the game. Detroit Lion Garo Yepremian was the last player to play without a facemask. It wasn’t long until he told ESPN ‘I would wake up every morning with blood in my mouth…I learned my lesson’ (ESPN
Now don’t be confused on the word football, since I am not talking about “soccer” at all. Football which is otherwise known as the NFL or the National Football League, is an American based sport that involves thirty-two teams from cities all over the country that compete against each other through strategy and strength in order to reach one goal; to win the Super Bowl.
The National Football League was formed on August 20, 1920. Players wore pads, not quite as protective as the ones today, helmets and legs pads. Even though their protective gear wasn 't all that protective they still made contact with the players of the opposing teams. As the years progressed the league made many changes to the rules due to player safety. They invented better protective gear for the players and they also made more strict rules regarding playing guidelines. The main goal of those rules, like the targeting rule that is so controversial today, is to protect the players. The targeting rule itself states that no player shall target and initiate contact against an opponent with the crown of his helmet, when in

Athletes these days are wearing a new kind of uniform and this uniform is not anything like the uniforms that we see them in on the field or on the court. These garments that we see athletes in are not the suits that they are wearing to the red carpet events or to the award show either. In fact these players even have a new kind of jersey number when wearing this uniform. The more athletes are convicted of crimes the larger the number of players we have as prisoners in their new uniforms which happen to be orange jumpsuits. These athletes are going from helmets to handcuffs in the drop off a hat and are being convicted of crimes that put them in far more danger than the actual sport they play.
In the modern day United States the sport American football has become not only entertainment but also a tradition whether it’s watching the BCS college championship or watching the super bowl with the family. The sport of American football is unique to the United States and has grown and became iconic over the years and has become a part of many Americans lives. American Football was made in 1869 and was modeled after the sport of rugby. They took the basics of rugby and changed it to make it fit better for them. The game has changed over the years but it also affected many Americans as the tradition of Monday Night football has begun. The game has had problems with the United States government as it was said to be too dangerous to play, this lead to an upgrade in the equipment and they tried very hard to make the equipment well ensuring player safety throughout the sport.
Football helmets are the most important pieces of equipment and have been revolutionized since football started. According to Forthofer (21012), when football was a new sport in the 1860s to 1896, helmets were not used. The first helmets that were used were made of mole skin or leather and were very uncomfortable and hot (Forthofer, 2012). In situations where the player gets injured due to faulty equipment gear, the NFL league should be held fully responsible.
Orange and white jump suits are what inmates are forced to wear to show that they have committed a crime. These uniforms are used to for reasons like stripping away their identities and help identify them if they are to escape. Now uniforms are used in schools for nearly the same reasons, except instead of a convicted felons they are worn by public school students. Though, many people say that there is a definite change in students behaviors and test scores. whether these perks are worth limiting students is quite controversial. School uniforms are thought are thought to have a positive effect on students’ academic abilities, but recent research shows this may not be true.
Until President Clinton called attention to the issue in his State of the Union address, mandatory public school uniform policies were sporadic local occurences. A few school districts had been quietly experimenting with uniforms for years, but the issue caught President Clinton's eye after the Long Beach, California school district released some numbers suggesting that after only one year, its mandatory uniform policy had not only brought about significant decreases in vandalism and fighting, but had also led to higher test scores. Now that the President's endorsement has elevated school uniforms into the realm of federal education policy, a question needs to be answered: Are uniforms a good idea?
A safe and structured learning environment is the first requirement of a good school. Children who feel safe and secure will better learn basic American values. In return they will learn the basis of good citizenship and become better students. In response to growing levels of violence in our schools, many parents, teachers, and school officials have been forced to look toward school uniforms as one potentially positive way to reduce discipline problems and increase school safety.

I was dressed in my soccer uniform because I went to her house right after practice, and she wore some sweat pants and just a regular t shirt. And we were just good kids never gotten in trouble or anything we have good grades and everything.
