I’ve had many memoirs in my lifetime. But by far this one is the best one. This memoir happens during freshman year of high school. It was the start of soccer tryout and I was super scared and nervous. I did not know what to excited of tryouts because I didn't know if I was good enough to play soccer or what you even what you did during tryout. Later on that day I meet the coaches and the team that I Would be trying out for. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be but I still wasn't comfortable at the tryout yet. The coaches had us to do drills run a lap and do a lot of other soccer training skills. I didn't know if I could make it through all the skills training because they were really hard and I didn't know any of the drills. All
I was thinking of is just giving up and not coming back because it was so hard. But, Something to me not to give up and to keep trying and play through the pain. During that moment I felt like I could fly like a bird and do anything I wanted. So I decided to talk to the coach about how I felt during the tryout. “Hey Coach “Hey Devin what's up” “ I haven't been feeling well about tryout outs and I don't think I should continue to do soccer anymore”. “ Devin don't quit. You have done an amazing job during tryouts” “Thanks, coach you really helped me. I think I will stay and try out for the team “ A few days have passed by which means that tryouts are done and the coaches are getting ready to tell you who made the team and who didn't make the team. Coach came up to me personally and said that I had made the team and he was proud of me and that I didn't quit because he really wanted me to stay. This lesson taught me that even though things might get hard that I should never give up and always do what I love.
For the past four years, I’ve been a cheerleader for Van Nuys Senior High School, granted that for two years I’ve been the captain. On surface level, a captain’s only job is to be the communicator, and representative for the coach as well as the team. As captain I performed responsibilities such as leading team conditioning, choreographing for the team, in addition to making sure the team is always ready. However, through cheer-leading I’ve learned that, holding the title “captain” is much more than that.
I have cheered for many years and have always been a hard worker and a leader. Not only do I participate in cheerleading but I am a member of the spanish club, powerlifting team, beta club, PAL club, track, and am I member of the boles concert band, and on top of that I have had A honor roll for the the past two years and have maintained perfect attendance all year. I am noting this because I know that as a cheerleader we should represent the school so I do not only put my all into cheerleading but into everything that I do. I believe I am well suited to become the 2018-2019 Boles High School Cheer Captain because I am serious when needed to be, creative, and a natural leader.

Flag football is a variation of the American game football. It’s quite an original name. Flag football is used by many recreational leagues and schools for physical education. It is better for the wide use of the public because there is limited physical contact. Tackle football is viewed as dangerous, due to the many injuries often occurring in the game such as concussions and broken bones. Flag football eliminates that risk. The players wear a belt of flags and instead of tackling, the opposite team will yank a flag off belt of the player.

The story of my history as a writer is a very long one. My writing has come full circle. I have changed very much throughout the years, both as I grew older and as I discovered more aspects of my own personality. The growth that I see when I look back is incredible, and it all seems to revolve around my emotions. I have always been a very emotional girl who feels things keenly. All of my truly memorable writing, looking back, has come from experiences that struck a chord with my developing self. This assignment has opened my eyes, despite my initial difficulty in writing it. When I was asked to write down my earliest memory of writing, at first I drew a blank. All of a sudden, it became very clear to me, probably because it had some childhood trauma associated with it.
Originally referred to as “Kick baseball” during its primitive years, kickball is a league game closely resembling baseball. Kickball was invented in 1917 by Supervisor of Cincinnati Park Playgrounds Nicholas C. Seuss, with the humble intention of teaching the children fundamentals of baseball. The early kickball field was designed similar to the baseball diamond, consisting of four bases. It involved two teams, the fielding team that tags the opposing team, and the kicking team that kicks the ball. But instead of instructing kids to buy baseball bats, as would be necessary in baseball, he modified the game so that kids could opt to use their feet to kick the ball.
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will”. Being a football coach requires someone who can be a great communicator. This person needs to understand communication on both sides an individual can not just demand that it's a one way street where you talk and athletes listen. The career of coaching requires history of the game knowledge of the game, extensive education, and positive and negatives aspects of the game.
I have been an employee for the Town of Richmond Hill for only a year now, which really surprises me because of how far I have come in this venture. From being a fellow student in swimming lessons, to taking lengthy, more advanced courses; I had finally reached my goal of being hired as a lifeguard/instructor near the beginning of grade 11. Little did I know, that was only the beginning of my journey that led up to me becoming a head coach of my own R.H.L.C team!
