The food industry is always expanding with new methods of cooking and serving food being discovered. Food trucks have made a huge impact, and have evolved dramatically over the years. Food trucks are a successful business which clearly shows in its history from its first appearance, to the widespread establishments of these trucks across the states, and how they compete with restaurants. These trucks that are well known today aren’t anything what they were centuries ago. The ancestors of food trucks are actually push carts and chuck wagons. By 1930, motorized versions were introduced in Chicago and New York, with Oscar Mayer introducing its first Wiener Mobile in 1936. Ice cream trucks made their debut which was building block for the first taco truck. In 1974, a man named Raul Martinez converted an ice cream truck into the first taco truck in East Los Angeles; years later he became the owner of King Taco. As the economy went south, food trucks multiplied because restaurateurs didn’t want to launch a restaurant, so they went with a less expensive route. Los …show more content…

Dave Thomas an American restaurateur and a philanthropist once said, “It all comes back to the basic. Serve customers the best-tasting food at a good value in a clean, comfortable restaurant, and they'll keep coming back.” (thomas). Everyone can agree on Dave Thomas, but I have a couple more criteria to add to his idea of a great successful restaurant. If I go out to eat I might as well pick a place that, though may be expensive, has scrumptious food because why bother going to spend money on food you can make yourself? A great restaurant has to meet three of my criteria’s: the Décor and atmosphere, impeccable service and cleanliness, and most importantly the food.
Imposing even when not in motion, monster trucks of today are high-octane mechanisms of mayhem. The evolution of these arena-filling creations garners great interest within the auto culture, given the capacity for performance today’s formidable monster trucks possess. Modified trucks emerged as sideshow entertainment, but today the industry’s grandest machines fill some of the nation’s most sizable venues with their gravity-defying feats, as families marvel at the bedlam on display when truck capabilities are put to the test.
The Man’s Truck In the last thirty-eight years, Ford has known how to target the audience they have for the F- series of trucks. After the new advertisement that Ford produced, it can be implied that they replicated their success again. With the first commercial being aired on television and online during the 2014 college football playoffs, Ford had a marketing strategy. It is apparent in almost all of the advertisements, including this one that Ford produced, is to showcase the newest and the best of the best F-Series of trucks and that they aim to get all the hard working American man.
Trucking has been a relevant career in the United States ever since the 19th century during WWI the army used trucks to transport goods to the soldiers. People in the towns and cities saw they were good transporter so as roads were built and paved more people start owning them. The Interstate Highway System was a big movement for truckers now they could haul there companies goods farther to other cities. The Motor Carrier Act of 1980 helped drivers who went on strike because of the price of gas to run and operate the trucks. Alex Debogorski was a long haul trucker introduced to trucking when he was looking to earn more money to do for his family. As he drove he realized how good the open road looks as the road meet the sky. Now he is on some of CMT’s episodes of Ice Road Truckers, he said If it wasn’t for his parents and wife he wouldn’t have made it. He also open the door for most of the truckers with criminal records. He helped pas the law that states if your drving record is good you can go in for the long haul.
Many of the customers are regulars who have been coming to the restaurant ever since it first opened, which is why the owners make it a priority to provide a consistent menu with the customer’s favorite entrees. The restaurant strictly serves dinner options, as it opens its doors at 4pm. The menu consists of seafood, pasta, steak, and sandwiches, as well as a daily entrée and soup specials, allowing every customer to find something that appeals to them on the menu. Although the menu features a wide variety of food, many of the options, especially the seafood, can be quite pricey for many customers. This results in many customers only being able to come in for special occasions, as the food is too expensive to pay for on a regular basis. Some of the restaurants most popular items, such as the prime rib, are only available on the weekend, resulting in customers who come into the restaurant specifically for thos...
Whether it’s from a food truck or an underwater restaurant, it’s not hard to find a good bite to eat. The Bay Area is always in high demand of new restaurants. In Washington Posts “Why San Francisco Is One of the Best Cities in America to Eat in 2015” author Tom Sietsema reported, “The backbone of his city’s vibrant culinary scene is its audience. San Franciscans, in general, are highly aware and supportive of not only our local restaurants, but also our local farmers, artisans, and growing areas It makes for a dining scene in which people are fully immersed in our food culture” (15). The food culture is a huge advantage for the Bay Area residents. On the other hand, many illustrious family-owned restaurants have been packing up and leaving due to high demand in their real estate. KQED news reporter, Sam Harnett, wrote in “Mission District Restaurant Landlords”: “If you’re a small business owner in a hot neighborhood, there’s not much to stop a landlord from jacking up your rent once the lease is up”. This illustrates the hardships of family-owned restaurants being unable to afford their rent and forced to leave. Bay Area residents are quick to contribute to the food revolution, regardless of price. Many residents try to keep the money circulating within The City by purchasing from local farmers and family-owned shops. I cannot deny that I have not taken advantage of the Bay Area’s amazing food

to be at least one fast food restaurant every five to ten blocks on a regular street. If that’s the way you drive home from work, and you don’t feel like making a home cooked meal, what do you think your family will eat that night; whatever you feel like stopping to pick up, due to all the fast food spots on the way. The fast food industry re...
There has been exponential rise in the number of eateries in most of the towns worldwide. This is partly brought about by the ballooning urban population, as well as the emergence of working middle class population who find themselves tied up by work in the cities they reside.
Food trucks are becoming increasing popular in the past few years. You can find them in every city and even some town in America. I’m not just talking about hot dog or ice-cream trucks. I am talking about the trucks that sell things like crab cakes, barbeque, fancy desserts, fish tacos, or upscale grilled cheese. The world of food trucks has changed so much. “People are looking at L.A. as a hotbed of the street food movement. (Robbins)” I think it has to do with the nice weather. Venders can sell food almost everyday. Also a lot of people live there and they all need to eat. Food trucks are a fast and convenient way to get good food. “During the first LA street fest the pair had anticipated they’d draw around 5,000 to the downtown event, not the estimated 20,000 fans who waited up to two hours for red velvet pancakes, mini banh mi, and lamb roti roll-up. (Robbins).” This was four times the amount of people they thought would show up. This tells us that they had a better idea than they ever thought. If people are willing to wait in for food from for two hours you know they must have something better. One of the great things about food truck is they are able to move around. They can go to the people. For instance, if there is a concert or a sporting event they can park right outside and people will just come to them. Also social media has had a very positive impact on food trucks. The trucks can post their location so people will know where to find them. People can voice their options about the food they have eaten. If a truck sees that people don’t like one of their items they can find out soon and start selling food people what to eat. Or when people have ideas of what they like to see on the menu they can voice their
In America, many are not aware of the inequalities that exist in the Food Service. The food service sector has at least 125,951 companies and approximately 12 million employees with almost 7 million foreigners. This sector includes individually owned restaurants, mid-priced chains, quick service (fast food), hotels, and beverage establishments. Food service plays a major role in institutional establishments like schools, hospitals, prisons and meals on wheels. They cater to the tastes of their particular customers and are often leaders of food innovation. In the food service, we find: bartenders, wait staff, hosts, busboys, chefs, cooks, managers, and dishwashers .The food service workers perform a variety of customer service, food preparation and cleaning tasks, all that which are very important to keep a business running. More concerning , some of the major working conditions that foodservice workers face with daily is no health benefits and significantly low wages. These employees working in the food industry make it possible for millions of people to enjoy food in restaurants but are not being treated or appreciated fairly.
