Food security is when everyone in a certain group of people have access to healthy and nutritious food. The North American countries Canada, United States and Mexico have relatively different food security and agriculture which it isn’t necessarily a dreadful factor as long as all countries meet the basic needs for the population so they can live a joyful and pleasant life. It is important to note that when analyzing the food system in a country is not only the food that counts; it is how they are produced; how accessible they are and how to make the most out of it. What determines if a nation meets the criteria of healthy living is: stability, sustainability, access, availability and utilization. These factors combined make all the difference in a country especially if they are in balance.

The National sleep foundation recommends that children one to five years old should get 11 to 14 hours of sleep each night (National sleep foundation, n.d.) They must also get the right nutritious vitamins to help them grow. A good way to achieve this is with a child baste motley vitamin. I will be inspecting the intake of food a child in daycare consumes each day to see if them meet the recommendations set by The Canada food guide. Food is a basic human necessity that all people need to live. With growing populations, countries need to provide sufficient food stock for their people. The industry is nation-wide, with each province and region having their unique biomes and native plants and animals to focus on their own sub sector. For example, the prairie provinces from Alberta to Western Ontario harvest their top commodities of grains and oilseeds. Today, modern Canadian agriculture is based on innovative, sustainable and competitive farming practices.
The world that we live in is inevitably problem stricken. There will always be a challenge that we are given to overcome, may that be a natural disaster, war, poverty, hunger, etc. As a whole we need to come together to find a ‘solution’ for all of these issues that are so detrimental to this world and those living in it. Some may be more preventative than the others, however, we must work together in times of distress to rebuild. I will be addressing the problem of hunger and food insecurity in America. Food security is define by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as access by all people at all time to enough food for an active, healthy life. The worst part is that we don’t have enough food to feed the world today so how will we be able to feed the world in 2050 if the worlds population is supposed to grow by 7 billion people?! The world’s population will grow from 7 billion to about 9.6 billion by 2050 and food production will have to increase by 70 percent.

It is also said that our planet is well capable of providing both the nutrition and caloric needs for humanity, both now and into the future as well. Regardless of where one’s opinion of the facts fall between these two arguments, global food security is not where it should be. Uneven development could be argued to be a cause of this.
