There were 3 subtopics that were discussed which are food packaging and food labelling, packaging as a brand and also cost concept. The main role of packaging was an essential part of product design, quality perception of food products, add additional quality to food product and to maintain a good quality of the food products. The functions of food packaging were divided into three that consist of product, logistics and consumer. For the product itself it is for protection and stabilization. For logistics it is important in distribution. For the consumer it is significance in image, information, portioning, integrity and convenience.

For example metal packaging was used in fruit, soft drinks, take-aways, coffee and whipped cream. Jars and bottles used glass in their packaging. For instance in packaging of mayonnaise and olive oil. Plain paper, waxed paper, laminated cartons, greaseproof paper and cardboard used paper in their packaging such as sugar, bread, orange juice, sausage rolls and cereal boxes. Plastic also incorporated in polyethylene, plastic cartons or plastic boxes, PET bottles and polystyrene.
