A food label is a source of advertising a food product. Manufacturers try their best to make their product food label as attractive as possible, by using bright colours, bold text, food claims, and a lot of information. Too much information on a food label might have caused a lot of painful headaches for consumers; but it's all worth it, due to many health and nutrition problems. By law, manufacturers must abide by the standard code terms of what is put on their food label. By this, a food label must have no false claims or information, be in English and legible and easy to see. Also must contain a barcode, name of food, list of ingredients in descending order of weight, net weight, any additives in the food, country of origin, use of imported ingredients, name and address of manufacturer, date marking and nutrition panel if any claims are made.

One of the many uses of glass is to make containers such as bottles and jars for storing food and drinks. The most important advantage is that glass containers do not release any chemicals or smells that can spoil the food and drinks that are put in them. The contents remain safe to consume as long as they have not expired. Also, for the same reason, glass does not pollute soil and underground water when thrown into landfills.
It has been around 20 years since the Food and Drug Administration has brought up the idea of making significant changes to our current nutrition labels. Portion sizes have changed and increased over the years and there is now a need to recognize what a typical portion for the average American is, especially with obesity rates increasing. Having the FDA update nutrition labels with a larger calorie content font, and increased serving size number is a change that needs to be made. The updated label differences from current would be, serving size redesign, a more prominent calorie count, calories from fat line removed, information about added sugars, Vitamin C and potassium

This heating process achieves two goals at once. First, it kills the vast majority of pathogens that may be present in the container. Second, it forces out most of the air above the food in the container.
