On March 8, 2014, 227 passengers gleefully walked onto Malaysia Flight 370, not knowing what would come of this adventure. It was an ordinary plane, a Boeing 777 with six seats across each row. When the pilot was ready to take off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and head to Beijing, China, the passengers had no idea what they were in for.
While the plane was orderly and on a similar routine to any other plane, the first class was extravagantly different. The seats had velvety, comfortable chairs with tremendous armrests and legrests. Every seat had more than enough room to relax, the chair could even turn into a bed! Unlike most planes, the first class section was in the very back of the plane, away from the pilot and the economy class, yet close to the bathrooms and the pantry. And best of all, the food in first class did not meet the stereotype of unwanted “airplane food”, the plane served gourmet and tasty meals that no one would resist. Two of which were occupied by a German couple who were going on their honeymoon. Their names were Lucas and Marie. They were intelligent, and elegant, but also stubborn and spoiled. They were the type of people who have probably never flown anything but first class.
Another seat was filled by Emma Johnson, a 28 year old American journalist, who was going to Beijing to interview a ruler. She was innocent, quiet, and quite clueless. She sat in first class because it was already payed for by the same Chinese leader whom she was to interview that evening.
The next seat was occupied by Ahmad, a 40 year old man who was a pilot himself. Ahmad used to work at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, but recently decided to move to Beijing to learn more about being a pilot. Since he recently quit his job at the Kuala Lumpur airport with high honors, they could not let him fly the plane, but instead gave him a free first-class ticket.
