On March 8, 2014, 227 passengers gleefully walked onto Malaysia Flight 370, not knowing what would come of this adventure. It was an ordinary plane, a Boeing 777 with six seats across each row. When the pilot was ready to take off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and head to Beijing, China, the passengers had no idea what they were in for.
While the plane was orderly and on a similar routine to any other plane, the first class was extravagantly different. The seats had velvety, comfortable chairs with tremendous armrests and legrests. Every seat had more than enough room to relax, the chair could even turn into a bed! Unlike most planes, the first class section was in the very back of the plane, away from the pilot and the economy class, yet close to the bathrooms and the pantry. And best of all, the food in first class did not meet the stereotype of unwanted “airplane food”, the plane served gourmet and tasty meals that no one would resist. Only the wealthiest of

Two of which were occupied by a German couple who were going on their honeymoon. Their names were Lucas and Marie. They were intelligent, and elegant, but also stubborn and spoiled. They were the type of people who have probably never flown anything but first class.
Another seat was filled by Emma Johnson, a 28 year old American journalist, who was going to Beijing to interview a ruler. She was innocent, quiet, and quite clueless. She sat in first class because it was already payed for by the same Chinese leader whom she was to interview that evening.
The next seat was occupied by Ahmad, a 40 year old man who was a pilot himself. Ahmad used to work at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, but recently decided to move to Beijing to learn more about being a pilot. Since he recently quit his job at the Kuala Lumpur airport with high honors, they could not let him fly the plane, but instead gave him a free first-class ticket. Ahmad was hardworking, determined, and very
Many people have issues with flying. Some are nervous that the plane might not make it to its destination while others think of flying as an overpriced, uncomfortable, and unpleasant experience. Than there are those who can afford to make their flight experience much more luxurious which are the passengers flying in business class or in first class. These are passengers that get the champagne in the plastic glasses and the chairs that stretch all the way out. David Sedaris is able to paint this picture of entitlement and lack of comfort throughout his article “Journey into Night.”
A Pair of Tickets”, by Amy Tan, is a brief narrative about the conscience and reminiscence of a young Chinese American woman, Jing-Mei, who is on a trip to China to meet her two half-sisters for the first time in her life. Amy Tan is an author who uses the theme of Chinese-American life, converging primarily on mother-daughter relationships, where the mother is an emigrant from China and the daughter is fully Americanized --yellow on the surface and white underneath. In this story, the mother tries to communicate rich Chinese history and legacy to her daughter, but she is completely ignorant of their heritage. At the opening of the story "A Pair of Tickets" Jandale Woo and her father are on a train, the are destined for China. Their first stop will be Guangzhou, China where father will reunite with his long lost aunt. After visiting with her for a day they plan to take a plane to Shanghai, China where Jandale meets her two half-sisters for the first time. It is both a joyful time and yet a time of contrition, Jandale has come to China to find her Chinese roots that her mother told ...
If the short haul passenger was the backbone of Southwest Airlines success, then their 737s were the lifelines that supported it. By choosing the 737 as the airplane for all of Southwest's flights, the company saved time and resources in training its employees. The crew could be easily substituted for one another due to the extensive training on the 737. Low costs and, therefore, low fares are an enormous competitive advantage, when combined with their high-quality and loyal workforce. A very unique culture was found at Southwest Airlines among all of its employees.
Pinnacle Airlines flight 3701 was a repositioning flight of an empty CRJ-200 from Little Rock National Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The flight took place on October 14, 2004. The flight was led by captain Jesse Rhodes and first officer Peter Cesarz. Each of the pilots received training at the Gulfstream Academy and flew for Gulfstream International Airlines prior to working for Pinnacle Airlines. Jesse Rhodes, the captain age thirty-one, had over 6,900 hours while the first officer, age twenty-three, had only 761 hours of flight time. The pilots on this flight did not adhere to SOP’s and flew the aircraft to its maximum performance capabilities. (Thesis) The accident occurred due to the unprofessional behavior of the pilots’, their failure to properly report and prepare for an emergency landing and improper management of the double engine failure checklist.

It was the afternoon of July 25, 2000. One hundred passengers, most of them German, boarded the Concorde Air France Flight 4590. This was a trip of a lifetime for many people, as Concorde was restricted to the wealthy class of people. The excitement in people was cut short by the unfortunate delay in flight, because of maintenance in one of its engines. The passengers boarded the plane a couple of hours after the scheduled time. Finally, it was cleared for taxi on runway 26-Right. The pilots lined the aircraft parallel to the runway. A tragic accident, however, was about to befall.
Flight 370 was an international passenger flight that went missing on March 8, 2014. The flight was scheduled in route to Beijing, but it went missing throughout the second day after the plane took off from Kuala National Airport. At approximately 1:21 p.m., the communications and transponder signal were functioning no longer. There were no emergency calls at the time the plane had its last checkpoint. On March 24 at approximately 10p.m.Malaysia Standard Time, officials ceased the search as radio signals picked up debris found throughout a remote Indian Ocean. It is believed that all of the 239 passengers on the plane died (Preimesberger). From protests and outcries, to mourning and fallouts, it is still a distraught event that shocked the world.
Since I was young I have always thought of being a pilot for Alaska Airlines. Due to the fact that I am already an airline pilot, I have a general understanding of the how the industry works. However, in order to gain more insight on this specific airline I solicited the opinions of two current pilots for Alaska Airlines. Unfortunately, we were unable to meet in person, but these pilots were kind enough to answer any questions I had via email. I asked the same set of questions to both pilots and listed below each question are there responses.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 - Flight MH370 was carrying 239 passengers on board on 8 March 2014 and was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when air control staff lost contact with the flight.
This nine-deck ship had all it needed to accommodate the three classes that paid good money to sail from Southampton Whales to New York. Many luxuries included tennis courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, Turkish and electric baths, a dark room for photographers, kennels for first class dogs, elevators (an innovation for the period), private enclosed promenades and nearly a dozen styles of staterooms (Charles Pellegrino). One unforgettable artifact about the Titanic rested on the first class level, the Grand Staircase.
I. It has been a year since the incident between Dr. Dao and the United Airlines and I am sorry to tell you that United Airlines is still having problems between the passengers and flight attendants. II. Most people have not forgotten the viral video of Dr. Dao being violently removed out of a United Airlines flight by police at Chicago O’ Hare airport. The United Airlines is in a management crisis again. (Trans.:

For me, this topic hits home and in my pocket. My uncle, retired Coast Guard Captain Brian Murray, flies for Emirates Airlines out of Dubai. Growing up with aviation in our family, I've seen and heard the best stories of flight, but it seems the best are yet to come. Every new dawn breeds a new idea of some component of flight that will lead to the best experiences offered in the passenger aircraft world. Personally, I have been flying regularly for the last ten years.
.British Airways were the pioneers with the introduction of space beds. To keep the Singapore Airlines to continue be a leader in providing the greatest comfort service to customers, it is our recommendation that Singapore Airline should continue with the installation of the space beds as this will keep them on top of the game with their main competitors. Furthermore, for an airline's long term Business Class customers to be taken seriously, the company should offer the comfort, of either the same value or even higher, to their customers. The drawback of the larger seats (space beds) would decrease the number of seats in the business class area of a jumbo jet from 58 to 50. However, installation of spacebeds ( in long term) will hopefully bring higher income to the Singapore Airlines because of the higher seat utilization.
