Workplace Stress: Several organizational stress management techniques include:

What we do at my work place, all staff have weekly meetings about positive and negative situations that have been encountered during the week. I find this very helpful because concerns or new ideas are brought. And we move al move along in the same page.
As a manager, it is important to recognize the source of stress. According to Nelson and Quick, the source of stress comes from work and non-work demands (p.107). A lack of managing stress can hinder the employees’ job performance. Increased stress levels in the workplace also reduce productivity. In here, another objective is to show how a manager’s leadership skill can help in reducing stress and increasing employees’ motivation.

Life is too short to be stressed and burned out. There are several ways to help detect and reduce stress. Leaders should be aware of key tips and ideas on stress and burnout so they can prevent it from happening to their co-workers before it becomes a major issue. Leaders can avoid stress and burnout in their department by regaining balance and reassessing priorities for each individual. They should help support and encourage employees, and keep teamwork at the top of their priorities. Leaders should be aware that stress and burnout will affect them at some point, but should always remember why they became a nurse and not give up on a career that they love.
Addressing job stress is not only the responsibility of the organization. Individuals must also share the responsibility for dealing with stress that is affecting them. They must be willing to take care of themselves through leading healthy lifestyles including eating a balanced diet, exercising, and taking advantage of stress reductions techniques and therapies which could include yoga, meditation or aromatherapy.
