Executive Summary
During the past two decades, financial markets around the world have become increasingly interrelated. Financial globalization has brought considerable benefits to national economies and to investors, but it has also changed the structure of markets, creating new risks and challenges for market participants and policymakers. The international marketplace continues to present opportunities for companies. But change is constant and prudent so companies must work to minimize their risks while maximizing their opportunities. The International marketplace can offer considerable financial returns to companies conducting business but there are risks that have to be considered such as trade, foreign exchange, cash management, cross border financing, investment, and multi currency requirements. Especially, financial institutions (seeking a return on their capital, both financial and intellectual), who have developed the product engineering skills and innovation necessary to undertake cross-border financial activities.
This paper will attempt to explain the roles of the financial institutions in the global economy while also looking into the future of the financial services industry over the next decade and speculating as to how the industry is likely to change. Finally, I will examine how these changes might impact the stakeholder relationships my organization has with financial institutions.

The coins made in gold, silver and bronze were traded during Roman Empire and the shortage of coins created a barrier for money circulation. However with the establishment of paper money, a sophisticated banking, global clearing system and electronic money, the global financial system evolved with a worldwide framework of legal agreements. In the Global Financial market, foreign currencies issued by the world, countries are traded by the buyers and sellers using currency exchange rates. Now a day, it is very common practices of companies in one country to raise capital in a foreign country by listing their stocks on major foreign exchanges given the growth of equity markets are becoming more globalized (SNHU, 2015).

By doing so, the organization can understand its competitive environment and create a strategic plan to succeed. Within an industry there may be several competitors that provide similar products and services. Within the financial services industry, competitors or Wells Fargo & Co. would be other banking institutions such as JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America. Because Wells Fargo offers a wide variety of products and services, its competitors may also include specialized firms such as Scottrade, e-Trade, Quicken Loans, and Loan Depot which specialize in specific products such as investment banking and mortgage products. Rivalry among these competitors is a positive factor for the consumer because each organization will focus on the activities of its competitors to provide superior service to its
If financial markets are instable, it will lead to sharp contraction of economic activity. For example, in this most recent financial crisis, a deterioration in financial institutions’ balance sheets, along with asset price decline and interest rate hikes increased market uncertainty thus, worsening what is called ‘adverse selection and moral hazard’. This is a serious dilemma created before business transactions occur which information is misleading and promotes doing business with the ‘most undesirable’ clients by a financial institution. In turn, these ‘most undesirable’ clients later engage in undesirable behavior. All of this leads to a decline in economic activity, more adverse selection and moral hazards, a banking crisis and further declining in economic activity. Ultimately, the banking crisis came and unanticipated price level increases and even further declines in economic activity.
The expanding global market has created both staggering wealth for some and the promise of it for others. Business is more competitive than ever before, and every business, financial or product-based, regardless of size or international presence is obligated to operate as efficiently as possible. A major factor in that efficient operation is to take advantage of every opportunity to maximize profits. Many multinational organizations have used derivatives for years in financial risk management activities. These same actions that can protect multinational organizations against interest rate futures and currency fluctuations can be used to create profits for those same organizations.

Investing or venturing into the international market involves critical analysis of the internal and external environment in which the company operates. Usually, a company will decide to venture internationally due to a saturated market or fierce competition in the current country of operation. The demand for a company’s products may have diminished as a result of an economic crisis thus the company will target a foreign market to sustain its sales. In other words, the firms expand internationally to seek new customers for its products. For example, the current Euro zone crisis led to low demand in Europe and many companies extended their businesses to emerging markets where demand was high. A company may also venture in the international market to enhance the cost-effectiveness of its operations especially for manufacturing companies that will benefit from low costs of production in developing world. Global expansion is a long term project as it involves demanding logistics to be successful. Thorough research must be undertaken to ensure that the expansion will create value for share...
