Fidget Spinners Should Be Allowed In Schools Essay

Are fidget spinners worth all the hype? Should they be allowed in classrooms, or should they be banned? Fidget spinners are growing more popular every day with kids all around the world buying them. The real question is -- Are kids using them for the real purpose? Children should not have fidget spinners because they are harmful to kids, they are distracting in classrooms, and they are being taken advantage of.
Primarily, they are harmful to kids who don’t know how to use them properly. Some kids that don’t use them the way they should run the risk of actually swallow the bearing in the spinner. If the bearing would happen to get lodged in the throat of a child, he or she could choke and die. Also, if someone throws it at another child, he could potentially permanently damage someone's body.
Next, they are very distracting in classrooms. For example, in the middle of class someone could bring out the fidget spinner and start playing with it. As a result, many other kids would draw their attention to it and not focus on the lesson. Also, someone sitting around the person with the spinner might be distracted by the noise it makes and can’t focus on their work. Every day, kids without ADHD and and Autism are using the spinner in schools or classrooms, distracting them from their work. In fact, there are some enhanced versions of the fidget spinner. For example, some fidget spinners on Amazon have LED lights in them with the addition of a speaker. They don’t serve the purpose that they are mainly used for. They are more of an entertainment toy then a focus tool. If students have ADHD or autism, they probably don't care about all these extra - and unnecessary - features. They just want them to help you focus on your work, no matter what
