The USPS has technologically improved itself year by year that its history speaks itself that is “In the more than two centuries since Benjamin Franklin was appointed our first Postmaster General in 1775, the Postal Service™ has grown and changed with America, boldly embracing new technologies to better serve a growing population” (USPS, About). Through the years, USPS tried to serve well enough with some competition with some other private postal services in the US, and so USPS picked some days as significant to compete in this rivalry field.
