AMBITION What is ambition? Ambition derives from the Latin ambitio, ‘a going around, and, by extension, ‘ a striving for honour, recognition, and preferment.’ Ambition in simple terms can be known as a DESIRE TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING. And Fear is something which one is being afraid of or feeling of anxiety on behalf of. We shouldn’t let our anxiety or fear control our ambition; instead when ambition controls fear, we harness the torrents to feed and water every corner of our being. But when fear controls ambition, we become creatures of habit. Every human being operates on a line between fear and ambition. Set goals but don’t share them. 2. Will to take risks. 3. Expose yourself to new ways of thinking. 4. Stay focused on execution. 5. Don’t compete with each other. 6. Surround yourself with other ambitious people. Ambition gets a bad rap. The trait that pushes someone toward success can sometimes turn into a game where winning isn’t about achieving; it’s about beating the other person. Channel it correctly, however, and ambition can bring great results. When one fears that person isn’t “living up to his potential” one’s ignoring the progress that he have actually made. Ambition isn’t typically referred to as something that needs to be “dealt” with. On one hand, it’s the driving force behind every great accomplishment. On the other, it’s a constant voice nagging you to do more. When ambition eats at you, it feels like no matter how much you accomplish or how hard you work, you haven’t done enough.
