Each person has a deep desire to be good at the things that they are passionate about. Fashion is a passion that I have and an area that I have more knowledge in than my peers. Growing up in a big city taught me much about the art of fashion different sights of fashion. I lived in Seoul, Korea for fourteen years and I was exposed to a variety of styles in the big city. I remember being a little girl and loving to visit the street markets. I would see all the bright colored clothes, beautiful accessories, and admire the fabulous outfits of those surrounding me. I admired how each brand at the street market had its own style and found interest in every store, even though each had its own unique fashion taste, and completely different styles. I also love math and writing, especially creating things for my own and making them unique to who I am. I notably love math when I apply the methods and solve the problem I feel powerful and confident. As well as the deep interest in math, I enjoy writing creative essays, and I feel that writing these essays truly shows my personality. Through this, I considered myself not only to have creative mind but also be a quick thinker. I believe that clothing has the strength to change …show more content…
I always knew that I wanted to somehow work in the fashion industry. There are several things that I have done to acquire the knowledge in this area. I looked up on the internet about how fashion merchandisers put effort into developing their company. I tried to research and analyze about their achievements and interviews in these articles. ?Most of the books in my room were fashion magazines, and this was the biggest part that had an impact on me. I skimmed through the magazines several times, and read the articles about fashion brands mainly, with marketing
On the twenty-first of August, our Wearable History class took a trip to downtown Bowling Green, to visit Mosaic Confinement Studio. The studio had an old-fashioned vibe, and was like a vintage-garment haven. There, we were asked to choose a piece that we thought was vintage, identify the time period it actually came from, and also take some additional notes on the style and the garment’s details. After searching through multiple racks, the first piece I found was a lace blazer. It turned out to only be vintage-inspired, so I went searching again. I came across a few other pieces, but nothing was really jumping out at me. Eventually, I came across a lavender dress that immediately made me think of Julia Roberts in “Mystic Pizza”, and I knew I found my garment.

Ever since I was able to dress myself I would and wouldn’t let anyone else tell me what to wear. As my family would tell me, they knew that I had my own sense of style from a young age. Over they years my love for fashion and creating things grew and never went away. While taking sewing classes in middle school, I wanted to be a fashion designer and that stayed my top career choice for a while. Once I got to high school I first took a fashion marketing class. In that class we learned a little bit about different marketing and how to promote some stores
This essay is one that seeks to discuss and educate you the reader about, “Whe Dem call Hot Dress ah jus excuse fi sho aff Dem badi.” In the contemporary trends of today (21st century), people become more and more independent and break out of their shells. The other day I was walking back to my dorm room and I saw someone wearing a shirt that read "Fcuk" across the front. If looked at quickly, one would think that there was some modern profanity being displayed on the front of the shirt when, in fact, there was none. The writing on the shirt actually is a label for a company by the name of French Connection. All this begs the question, is fashion becoming more brash, or is it emphasizing on the American right to freedom of speech? Furthermore, are some people taking that constitutional right too far? Clothing and fashion has always had a language of its own. Throughout the ages, the style in which one dresses has defined one's position in society, one's political views and one's occupation.
The Renaissance time period started in the late 14th century and it lasted all through the 16th century. It all started in the late Middle ages throughout Italy (http://fashionhistory.net) taking at least one-hundred years before it reached the Northern Alps. This was also the period where the word “European” was put in use and understood by other places, and the word “Renascrere” originated from the Italian word “Renascrere” and it meant to be re-born. The word Renascrere fitted perfectly to this age due to the fact that many had intellectual pursuits and creative energy was re-born (www.richeast.org). The Renaissance would be best known for its artistic aspect and famous polymaths as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo given the term “Renaissance men.” It was an effective cultural and development of perspective in painting movement spreading to the rest of Europe and the advancements in science. Fashion was culturally formed, and there is a close relationship between art and fashion. The first designer who had his label sewn into a garment he created was Charles Frederick Worth (1825-1895). In the 1840s, adult women adopted a variation on girls' pantalettes as an undergarment. (Toccata: March 2010 toccatamundi.blogspot.com
Fashion, psychology and the sociological perspective have long been perceived as mutually exclusive concepts. However, is there a possibility that a trinity exists in the former? To illustrate, it is evident that throughout history fashion has influenced society as a whole and has mirrored its aspects i.e. economical and sociological. Furthermore, this influence has developed to be perceived psychologically where individuals identify with fashion in the sense of translating visual information showing their personal views and attitudes. To that effect, what is fashion? Traditionally and in the literary sense, fashion is defined as ‘a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behavior’ . However,
Clothing has always been an important part of society, with evidence from the earliest human civilizations. In history, climate, religion and political factors played a role in the fabrication, styling and even color of the garments that people wore. Today, the fashion industry is multi-faceted, and while climate and religion are still some factors in how we dress, there are many more influences in what we choose to wear. Time and time again, designers reference historical styles and push them into modern trends. Subcultures illustrate how a particular way of dressing can transform into a lifestyle. Ethnic fashion ties in with a specific culture’s values and beliefs. By looking at clothing in other societies around the world, as well as the many global subcultures, we can learn a lot about the depth and complexity of the members that make this world colorful and diverse.
Introduction Historically, multiple styles of dressing have been created during the last several decades, which played an important role in modern fashion in the UK. Everyone has a different and unique dressing style in their everyday life. Some styles are influenced by vintage styles which are attributing to the deep effects of old vogue, and another group of dressing styles are inclined into the fresh element. Despite those different styles, some of them have even evolved into the milestones in fashion history. To start this essay, it will introduce the evaluation of the first significant revolution of dressing style in the 1960s.
Fashion is a currently valued style of appearance and behavior. It is a way to shape one’s external custom. ...is instilled in me, that I must gain as much knowledge as possible in order to succeed in life. In the fashion industry, one must continue to learn about the world around them in order to keep up with the changes in the industry. There are many different ways today that I can keep up with what is going on in the fashion world without going to school, but school will prepare me for the challenges that are to come. The only previous work experience that I had working in a fashion was at Mortal Kombat. I did not stay at the job very long because of personal issues that I had with staff. I feel that I need to get involved in some type of fashion job so that I can network better. Networking is essential in the fashion business, because you may never see people that you want to talk to but word-of-mouth can open doors that lead you in the direction that you wanted to go.
All things considered, I firmly believe that people devoted to fashion clothing could earn self-esteem and make them more confident. Nevertheless, it is significant to be original and capable of deciding what to wear by ourselves instead of following the trends without consider our personality. Needless to say, no one should discriminate someone because of not being in fashion. It is our responsibility to give the right importance to
