Introduction

Historically, multiple styles of dressing have been created during the last several decades, which played an important role in modern fashion in the UK. Everyone has a different and unique dressing style in their general life. Some styles are influenced in vintage styles which is attributing to the deep effects of old vogue, and another group of dressing styles are inclined into the fresh element. According to those different styles some of them are even evolved in the milestones in fashion history.

To start this essay, it will introduce the evaluation of the first significant revolution of dressing style in 1960s. A famous designer called Mary Quant created mini-skirts and it becomes the most popular fashion style around that decade (Tracy Tolkien., 2002).

In second place, this paper would like to compare the dressing style of 80s with 60s (Tracy Tolkien., 2002). Finally, it is the discussion about the influences of vintage styles of 60s and 80s on modern fashion in the UK and this paper would like to demonstrate the new fashionable trend for recent years. This project will analyze the dressing styles for two different eras and conclude discuss effect on the British vogue especially.

The dressing styles in 60s

1960s was significant decade for the fashion world in UK. Moreover it also was a remarkable changed with dressing styles under the circle of mini to maxi.

The dresses were powerful and simple. Especially, the colors were deeper than the 60s and those designers prefer to add jewels on garments. Moreover, many products were luxurious in the 80s because of the economy has recovered during that period. Modern fashion is meaningful; it brings many changes and has a huge influence on general life. Heskett (2002) mentioned that It not only changes the lifestyle, but also changes the minds of a generation. Modern fashion is continuing to better its functions and forms, moreover it has long way to go and a huge space to discover and create. Therefore, modern designers need more and more artists to inherit and find new styles of vintage influences.
