The person I interviewed was born in New Hampshire. They were raised by their mother for 3 years until she died in a car accident. In result of this accident, they went to live with their half sister’s aunt for 18 months but was neglected. They had to move with their grandparents for a few years then moved with their father but had to leave when their mother falsely accused him for abusing her; he was imprisoned without trial. He went on to marry a different woman and they’ve been living with their stepmother. They mentioned living in New York for a bit, then they moved back to New York. They aren’t currently employed. They do want to acquire a teaching job in Physics. I started to ask them questions about religion, culture, and family. Their definition of culture was a set off traditions values and beliefs held by a community. They defined family as biologically related relatives. …show more content…

They take part in an organized religion that was based in Maine known as the Star Teachings of Society. They plan on passing on their families belief of whatever their children want to believe on to their family. Physical contact in their familial culture is viewed as relaxed as long it’s agreed upon on by both parties, consensual, contact is fine. In his national culture, physical contact is only proper if the parties are intimately related. What is considered disrespectful in their familial culture is lying. Inherent disrespect that comes with being a millennial is considered to be their national culture. What is considered respectful in their familial culture is honesty and kindness and in their national culture it’s discretion. They told me what the most commonly held misconception about people of their culture on a global scale is everyone thinks American’s are stupid but they agree that people that believe this misconception aren’t entirely
