By being constrained to only a certain amount of money made me more cautious about the quantity of products that I was buying and what brand the products were. By budgeting it made me realize that going to big name grocery stores isn’t always the most ideal option, such as Walmart and Meijer tend to be more expensive where Family Fare and Aldi’s are fairly more on the cheaper side when it comes down to prices. I realized that shopping at Family Fare and Aldi’s is more convenient for people to shop at when trying to save money and way more affordable while on a budget. By being on a budget and making a plan for each individual week of what I was going to eat for each meal it made grocery shopping go a lot faster, because I had a plan and I knew what I needed to buy and only got what was on the list due to the budget. The limitation changed what I ate by not being able to buy as much expensive healthier foods or as much food in general not allowing junk food or items to snack on in the household, which is a really good thing, but it limited what I ate because there wasn’t enough money in the budget to buy a bunch of food that wasn’t needed for that …show more content…

While doing the budget planner and shopping list I didn’t really have to substitute anything instead I either just didn’t buy the item all together or I bought it in the spartan brand causing the product to be cheaper in the price. The long term effect this budget would have on my health would probably not be the best going on the budget planner that I did for the past week because of the food choices I had on it, but if I continued with the budget planner and shopping list I think it could be a very good thing because it decreases the amount of food in the house in general so that means it lowers the chances of having a lot of junk food around in the house and if I were to buy healthier food options than what I previously had boughten then this food budget and planner would be an excellent idea and be an amazing thing for my overall health. If everyone in the U.S. population had a budget and was able to follow their plan would most likely make our country healthier.
