Grocery Shopping You know I never thought of grocery shopping as being a challenge or a skill until I had a house of my own and a family to care for. Today's grocery shopping trips in the Lambert household include my three children ages seven, four, and two tagging along. Wanting anything and everything. I use to enjoy grocery shopping and now it takes so much planning, memorization, and legit skill to get in and out within my set budget, and with getting everything on my list. After doing this for about seven to eight years with children I would consider myself a pro at grocery shopping! First things first, leaving the house. I, of course, have to make sure all three kids are ready, I have my wallet, phone, and keys. When we get to the store we have "the talk". Don't run, don't grab items off the shelf, and please don't run anyone over with the buggy. The younger two usually sit in the cool car buggies and my oldest pushes them. We enter the store on the left side and work our way from left to right. Starting at produce and end in the frozen food section while going up and down the isles in-between. At the produce, we always …show more content…
Usually about this time one child has to pee and no, they cannot hold it until we get home. Been there tried that, big fail. So, after making all three kids go to the restroom, it's time to figure out which register to go to. I try to pick the line that moves quickly, has the least amount of people, and that isn't right near all the candy. The faster the line, the quicker I can get the kids out from being fed up not moving in the line. Sometimes we do let others in front of us simply because we have so much in our buggy, that it's going to take a few minutes at checkout. I insert my VIC number to see if I have any savings and watch the price of items as they're rung up. Once the cashier is done, I pay, get my receipt and spring for the
Wegmans target market and customer is “everyone”. This is one retail place that gender and economics doesn’t really matter. They take EPT, which is a government aid for those who are in need of food for their families, so it accommodates all people of every economic status. If I had to gear in on a customer, I would say it is appealing to the mother’s out there. Wegmans offer cute double car carts with the steering wheel, so kids are entertained while mom shops. Some of the stores also have the “W-kids Fun Center”, which is where you drop off your kid(s) so they can have fun doing activities while you as a mom shop without distraction.
Publix strives to utilize the industry-wide differentiation strategy. As mentioned before,
Economic forces have driven grocery stores out of many cities in the past few years, either only leaving only a few, and in some cases none. Many of these people leaving in these rural urban areas do not own cars and b...

After taking a closer look at the American diet, it 's clear to see Americans are in a lot of trouble. The average American diet is filled with lots of greasy fast food, large cuts of meat, salty junk food and sugar-laden sodas. This tradition is then passed on to the children and creates a legacy of ailments, disease and a lower quality of life. To many people, plant-based eating sounds like a death sentence. It's like a cloud that floats heavily over our heads, casting dark shadows in our world, but is still ignored. Global hunger, a problem that's everywhere yet many people refuse to acknowledge it, maybe because it's never been directly an issue to them, or maybe it's because being born into wealth has made some lack compassion. I'm not judging, it's hard to feel empathetic to something you don't see every day, something that quietly sits underneath our noses. You can't feel understanding for something you don't have knowledge of. However, global hunger is a real problem, one that shouldn’t be ignored with such ease but recognized and helped.
In America itself only about two percent of kids eat a healthy diet. The topic I
When you go grocery shopping, make sure you don't buy too much. This means going to the grocery store more often, and reducing the amount of food you buy each time. If you live far away from the store or you hate shopping, you should be thoughtful and careful about what you purchase. The influence of special deals, such as “buy two get one free”, may be one of the biggest aspects of why food gets wasted. Getting a good deal on food items feels good but can lead to spending more money and building up on more food than needed. Not shopping hungry will surprisingly also reduce the amount of food wasted. You may be more likely to purchase on impulse based on what sounds good to eat at the time, which can lead to uneaten and wasted food. Another tip is to buy loose produce. This is a great way to buy just the right amount of food, based on a weekly plan, and also cut down on packaging waste. A very helpful and important thing to do is to plan out your meals, and make a detailed shopping list with the ingredients you'll need, and when you're in the store, stick to that list. This way you’ll know exactly what you need to buy and won’t buy excess
McDonald’s is delicious and convenient, and only cost a few dollars. On days were you are extremely busy they are there to serve whatever you would like from the menu. Sometimes it seems as though you can access it quicker than a trip to the grocery store. Even though, you know you will be hungry again later, you still pull up and go through the drive thru and place the order. While placing your order do you ever think of what this kind of food is doing to your body? Alternatively, that for just a few dollars that conveniently priced meal over time could cause your health to deteriorate. Fast food restaurants are adding to the obesity epidemic. Do you know what it feels like to be truly hungry? Have you experienced the deep-seeded fear that arises from not knowing where your next meal is coming from? Luckily, I am not forced to answer “yes” to either of those distressing questions and neither does roughly 79% of the world’s population. However, according to certain statistics, “11.3% of the world’s population” is personally familiar with chronic hunger. To put that figure into perspective, 11.3% of the world’s population boils down to “roughly 805 million people who go undernourished on a daily basis.” (dosomething.org) Eight hundred five million people suffer needlessly says the author of the article because “the world produces enough food to feed all 7 billion people…” (dosomething.org) How is it possible then, that we as people, can possess the resources to feed those millions of hungry people but choose to stand idly by and refuse to help? Sadly, by doing nothing, mankind makes a conscious decision to allow millions of human beings to suffer from malnourishment.
Around Christmas time all people have a different way we like to go about shopping. Some like to stay in the comfort of their own home. While others like to save every little penny they can and some shoppers like to get in and out of the store as fast as possible. There are three types of holiday shoppers, the online shoppers, the bargain shoppers, and last but not least the man on a mission.
