“Failure is the mother of the success” literally, that every failure would led to your next success and victory. It origins from the Chinese idiom dictionary, But,I think the intent of the saying is to encourage you to face challenges and experiences allure. I certainly takes this advice seriously, in fact it has become my motto of my life. At 15 years old, my friends suggested me a game known as league of legends, a multi-player online battle arena, real time strategy video game, it soon draws my attentions. After weeks of playing the game, I was excited, delighted and passionate about the game, where I spent excessive amount of time on it, developing new strategies, working teammates, not to rage or flame, instructing them to the path of …show more content…
Since Summer school classes were at the morning, so I was able to get a summer job at the afternoon. Luckily I was accepted by the Summer Youth Employment Program, and eventually I was enrolled by a non- profit organization called “Light And Love Home”. I was passionate and excited to serve my community, my occupation was teacher’s assistant, and my job was teaching third grade children. That was one the best experiences I have ever had, those kids were very cute, compassionate and intelligent. They were enrolled in a summer camp program, all the kids here were capable of solving complicate math questions, and decent reading skills. The organization provides many extracurricular activities such as computer class, gym, art and craft. These courses was beneficial for children, because they were able to discovered their specialty and hobbies through these activities. Many children experienced success and become more confident, most importantly these kids become true friends through these daily activities. Excluded from those activities, “The Light And Love Home” hold charity, street fair and marathon race to fundraising money for senior service and to help build orphanages in Africa, This experience granted me a huge self- confidence boost, I became more active within the community, as time goes by, I become compassionate, diligent and determined, moreover I acquired stronger …show more content…
From my failure, I realized the importance of education, how it could have changed your life, and impact your professional ambitions. In Chinese idiom dictionary, there’s a quote “failure is the mother of success.” This quote means that every failure would led to next success, and victory, we should not be depressed when we fail, we should not feel discouraged, we should just cheer and encourage ourselves, because every failure accompany by next success. To become a successful individual, we always had to experience challenges throughout our life, we do not shied away from challenges, we faced it and draw lessons from our
That exact statement makes me or any reader feel that failure doesn’t always have to be perceived to be negative. Failure can improve personal growth. We are always scared out the outcome failure will bring, but that is the silver lining for our personal growth. If we concentrate more on the effort we put into a certain task, we can grow by the steps we take along the way. Anyone can succeed, no matter their
Estrem, Pauline. "Why Failure Is Good for Success." Thesis. N.d. (n.d.): n. pag. SUCCESS. Success Magazine, 2013. Web. 02 Jan. 2014
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Success and failure seem to be pretty distinct opposites, but many times the differences between success and failure aren’t as obvious as we may think them to be. Sometimes a failure can be turned into a success if you are willing to look back at them, and are open to learning from them. Many times, one’s attitude toward a failure can determine whether or not anything is learned from it. Those who remain upbeat and positive after a failure may be able to get something out of it, but those who just don’t think about it and ignore it won’t get anything from it.
In When Success Leads to Failure, Jessica Lahey is faced with a tough situation involving a student, whose love for learning is fading, and a parent who does not seem to understand why. Lahey establishes that parents are starting to teach children to fear failure, and the fear is what is destroying their love for learning (Lahey). I support Lahey’s proposition that kids are beginning to hate learning because children are taught that failure is not an option. In today’s society, many teachers and especially parents push children to only strive for success and to fear failure, which results in many children’s growing hatred for learning.
And if it is true that the lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success then I am right. This is where my path to success really begins. It is never late to start again. Small things that aren’t so small can have a big repercussion in someone's life. We as human beings need to learn how to be more loving, respectful and compassionate. I am so proud to be who I am today because of this past experiences. I believe almost everybody has had a time in their lives in which they failed, nobody is perfect. Failure indeed can be fundamental to later success, but the expectations of success are not what people think, at least for me, but I certainly know I'm not
Failure can cause a torrent of mixed emotions and thoughts. One can begin to doubt their motives for even attempting to succeed at a certain task. Some people may choose to give up after failure, but there are a select few who rise up to the occasion and move forward to try and succeed no matter how many tries it takes. By overcoming those difficult moments in life, it gives a person a sense of accomplishment and pride and that alone is a beautiful thing.
Failure leads to disappointments but sometimes it can result in great lessons and successes. People can go through hard times, but if they stick it out and see it through, the failures and hard times can lead to success. This happened to me recently involving soccer. It was our second game of the high school season, and we were playing Northeastern. I had started the game and after the national anthem and the announcing of our names, the game whistle had blown, singling the start of the game. The first half went by slow it seemed to never end. With the end of the first half we were tied 0-0. The halftime talk was not very positive, understandably, considering we weren't playing well. Then the whistles blew again and we took the field to start
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
Predecessors said that failure is the mother of success but in my personal experience, success is also the mother of failure. A quote from a successful male entrepreneur in Malaysia which is Tan Sri Robert Kuok Hock Nien. He was born on October 6, 1923 in Johor Bahru, Johor and is the youngest among the 3 siblings. His father was a Chinese business man, helped his uncle to run rice, soybeans and sugar business. Since the Kuok family became local small rich, Robert’s father able to provide education for him and he was graduated from the popular Singapore Raffles College. Good education became a foundation or base for Robert to manage his business.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Failure is the result from actions that were not successful, to have failed your actions. Society believes that failure should be hated but it is fundamental to success and to achieve goals. Each human learns from their failures, their success becomes even greater. The key to success is to believe, other want to postpone you into total failure; but you can use those failures for your benefit. I have experienced many failures that have impacted the outcome of my life in negative and positive ways, the most traumatizing failure was my rejection of the National Honor Society. I had dreamed of joining the National Honor Society since the staff had introduced it during the freshmen induction, it had become a goal mine for the entirety of high school.
“The failure is the mother of success” this Chinese quote said that failure is not the end. Failure is where people learn from their mistake. People cannot be successful all the time. Indeed, there are many people who learned from their failures before being successful. Each failure that people had met is a helpful lesson and valuable experience to help them become a better person.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
