The Unsinkable Titanic I think the items from the Titanic should be left to rot in the ocean. The three reasons why are that they are a remembrance of those who died on the Titanic, they will just get lost or eaten down there, and they are an important part of history. First of all, they are a remembrance of those who died on the Titanic, which means that they should be brought up for us to remember forever. Some of the people on the Titanic died very bravely, and some of those items could have been theirs. In the book, “Exploring The Titanic,” by Robert Ballard, Harold Bride and Jack Phillips worked in the operator room until the last minute, trying to save the ship. Most of the stuff was already eaten or dissolved, and more will be over the years if they are left down there. In “Exploring The Titanic,” page 55 shows a picture of a safe. The bottom of the safe had been rusted out. This means we should gather the last of the items before they disappear or get ruined too. The sinking of the Titanic is a very big and important part of history. Each item tells a fascinating story about the Titanic and the people who died on it. In “Exploring The Titanic,” Robert saw a doll’s head on the ocean floor. He thought it could have been Loraine Allison of Montreal’s doll; the only first-class child who did not survive the sinking. She could have been clutching it tightly as she sank with the ship. If the items are lost or eaten in the water, their story, and the human that the item belonged to, can be forgotten. That is the third reason why we should bring them up. Some people say that the items should be left alone. They think it is a burial site, and by taking the items we are disturbing it. That is true, it is a little disrespectful to bring up the items, but down there they get lost. It would be better to bring them up so we can treasure them in remembrance of the people who died. There were few items when Robert Ballard went down there for the first time in 73 years. Why leave the items down there if they will not survive? That is why we should not leave them
