What does it mean to “be free ” ? “What does it mean to be free?” Well there are several meanings to being “free”. Freedom is one of those things that not everyone has, but those who don’t have it want it more than anything and those who do have it take it for granted. Being free means you can say what you want, do what you want, wear what you want,learn what you want, and own what you want. Some people are under rulers that do not allow these freedoms, some people live under rulers that encourage these freedoms. Everyone human being should be free, however some are not so lucky. In my opinion what it means to be free is several different things. One is your basic freedoms such as: being free to put on any kind of clothes, haircut, and we can say what we want at where we want to do it, just like President Roosevelt said, “The first is freedom of speech and expression” (Roosevelt, 275). He said about this in his “Four Freedoms” speech. For him people were born with the fight of speech nobody can take it. In the “Four Freedoms” speech President Roosevelt talks about how he fears the rights and freedom of the citizens of the United States are in danger.
