To establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, there are many rules you must follow. I try to start out by abiding by all safety rules, established by the Learning center. I know that my center has the child’s best interest, we work hard to avoid any injuries at all cost. One of the rules that I teach my students is, to always use their walking feet. We must be cautious, especially if we have to walk up and down a flight of stairs. I am also current on my CPR/First Aid certification, just in case I need to assist in an emergency. I assist with ensuring our smoke alarms are working properly, in case of a fire. I teach my kids about proper procedures on exiting the building, in case of a fire or a natural disaster. We must
always be prepared, to escape safely and in a formal fashion. We keep all the emergency numbers posted, including poison control, provider and parent’s numbers. I also do my daily visual sweep, of the building inside and out. I’m checking for anything that may cause an accident including; out let plugs, chemicals are locked away, and there are no broken or rusted toys that need to be thrown out. There are many other ways to keep our environment safe and all are just as important. The menu that I have in my resource collection, is not one that I designed. It was designed by the State Food Program, to contribute to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children. Although, there are quite a few things I would like to change, it’s very healthy and nutritious. It focuses on an even balance of each food group. We do not allow our kids to eat in family style, but we will be implementing it later on in the year. I did not design, the physical environment of our class. But it is important to make the space, appealing to the child’s eye. I want to make sure, that they are excited about being a part of the daily activities. In our classroom, everything is child sized. It makes everything easier for the children to get to and it promotes self-esteem. Our kids can use most of the items, without needing any assistance or our help. The learning centers are filled with print rich environments and contain a lot of words, on a level where kids can easily see them. We make sure to display the kid’s art all around the class, so that it is at a child's eye level. We do have adaptive equipment, readily available to the kids, if they need to use it. In our class, we have age appropriate toys, which encourage kids to engage in hands on play. At our center we believe, that each child learn at their own unique pace. The lesson plan in my resource collection, is not one that I designed. It is organized for the kids to participate in a variety of activities in areas such as math, science, art, daily living, dramatic play and music. We have visual cues posted of our schedule, to help students plan for changes throughout the day. There is a steady flow of transitions throughout the day. We have found that playing music to signify transition time, is more efficient than an abrupt stop and start. We believe that kids needs to know what to expect and what’s expected of them. Transitions are key, to properly carrying out our daily routine and maintaining order.
The leading issue of the WA DoE Duty of Care for Students Policy is stated in Section 1.A “Teaching staff owe a duty to take reasonable care for the safety and welfare of students whilst students are involved in school activities or are present for the purposes of a school activity” (WA DoE, 2007, p. 3). This means teachers are legally responsible to protect students from reasonably foreseeable risks of harm whenever a relationship exists between a teacher and a student. Some examples include in the playground, the classroom or during a school excursion. The second important issue addressed in the WA DoE Duty of Care for Students Policy is how teachers use their professional judgement to assess dangers, guard against risk of injury to students, and determine levels of care required, based on their knowledge of individual students and the type of school activity undertaken.... ...
...nd others for injuries, look for and extinguish small fires, inspect your home for damage, listen to the radio for instructions, and expect aftershocks.
...suade adults who smoke to stop. When I see an adult smoking sometimes I will ask them if they know all the risk then give them some facts about the danger. In this effort I serve the community by making an effort to keep the people in it healthier. Lastly, I show service to my school through the help I provided while in the National Junior Honor Society. As a member in NJHS I helped our middle school begin a recycling program; I helped get the recycling boxes and bins ready, gather paper from around the school, and sort the paper after school. Through this I show a dedication to my school and community, because not only does recycling help the school reduce waste but it also allows the environments resources to last longer. For these reasons I would be an excellent, determined, helpful member, who is more than willing to provide service to my school and community.
When working practitioners must not only protect the children they work with when in the school setting and off site, but also themselves. Whether in school or off-site the school safeguarding policy should be referred to, to give guidance and adhered to at all times.
It is my strong belief that each child is entitled to a safe, secure, stimulating and caring learning environment. I always believed that each child is a unique individual with much curiosity and many academic, social and emotional needs. Children need our support in order to mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As a teacher, one should aim to help students in fulfilling their dreams to become successful and educated individuals. We must provide them with a safe learning environment for their learning to succeed.
Having a safe and healthy childcare setting is one of the most important duties in a daycare. Educators practising good healthy procedures is a good way for children to learn about healthy choices as educators are, good role models.
Definitely at Trinity Regional Medical Center (TRMC) we embrace a culture of safety. Not only by writing policies that support quality of care; but also by ensuring the policies, medical by-laws, and competency based education and standards are promoted and educated effectively to all staff. TRMC was the first Unity Point affiliate to embrace the implementation of electronic medical records with the onboarding of epic. We are progressive in promoting nursing professionals to further their education and defiantly encourage nursing to lead change, advance health care, and promote a culture of safety (Blais&Hayes, 2016). This is reflected in our daily patient safety huddles that encompass representatives from all the departments at TRMC.
Teach your children proper pedestrian safety including the importance of looking both ways before crossing a street and the importance of using crosswalks. Make sure to model these behaviors when walking with your children.
Physical Education, Leisure, and Play- In some instances, the learner becomes very frustrated and can become aggressive or even self-harm, with this student in the classroom it is imperative the environment is assessed and made safe
2. Take your child’s concerns seriously. Listen carefully to discern your child’s feelings, thoughts, and concerns, and reassure him that you care about his safety.
If you ask most parents they will say the most important thing for their child is to be healthy, safe and get a good education. Most parent believe it is important for their child to get a good education so they can go to college and get a good job so they can have a better life. All children receive education and are required to go to school k-12. It is important for teachers to understand and use theory in their classroom. If teachers understand theory and the theorist it could help bring a better learning atmosphere for schools. Schools though out the United States bring a different learning atmosphere. The United States is faced with the ongoing problem of poverty. Families all over the United States are struggling. A lot of child who grow up in a family struggling with poverty drop out of school to get a job to help their family survive. Poverty is a big problem but so is school safety. Safety in schools is so important and over the last ten years there has been a lot of school shooting and violence. Giving children an education while keeping them safe is important. Teaching school safety continues
Thousands of people are affected by the lack of school safety in schools across the nation. Students everywhere are attending schools that are more dangerous than expected. This is a growing concern everywhere, and schools need to improve, or else they are prone to being unsafe. Whether it is building, drill, concussion, social, or technology safety, schools need to improve to lower the risk of an incident.
Teaching classroom rules and procedures will contribute to a safe and secure environment for students. Classroom rules should be the same for everyone, however, like I mentioned above there are exceptions to be made on an individual basis. All interactions within the classroom should be positive. There will be no teasing or harassing of any kind. Respect, trust, and understanding will be the foundation of classroom rules. It is important to keep an open mind and treat each student with fairness, with the hope that in return students will learn to treat each other as equals and with
Since joining the team on October 10th, I have attended a variety of safety meetings. The last C&DS monthly meeting was on November 2nd. I also joined the safe walking campaign led by Kelly Stroud. With that group I educated others on the dangers of distracted walking. In addition to attending meetings, I have conducted myself in a safe manner while in and out of the office. I have had zero recordables, zero injuries and zero accidents.
The most important rule that I believe in is that my classroom should be a place of learning. The best way to create this type of environment is to make sure that I am consistent with all students and that I make the students feel comfortable and relaxed. I believe that students learn more in a consistent relaxed atmosphere, because all students need to know that what’s wrong for one is wrong for all and what is right for one is right for all. I want my students to be comforted in the feeling that they are all on equal footing when they step into my classroom.
