1) Evolution of IT infrastructure:

There is significant development in IT infrastructure over these 50 years in regards to the computing.
There are 5 eras of evolution and each has their unique configuration of computing power and infrastructure elements

The five eras are:
1. Mainframe and mini-computer computing
2. Personal computers
3. Client/Server networks
4. Enterprise computing
5. Cloud and mobile computing.

Even though there is significant evolution in IT infrastructure, the technologies that are significant to a specific era may be still used in another.
For instance:
Some of the companies are still using the Mainframe systems for their applications

With the evolution of Cloud and Mobile computing, the Moore’s law and Law of Mass Digital Storage are effected by a significantly.

2) Cloud Infrastructure as service:

Companies using this are:
1. Amazon web services: It’s one of the top among the others to use the cloud computing. The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is used for running the applications and benefit of this is we can pay based on how much we are using their services and how much of cloud storage space we are using.
2. Bluelock: This offers cloud computing and other managed services that are supported by VMware vCloud DataCenter Services. These are safe and secure and SAS-70 Type II certified, so this ensures that our cloud data is impervious to breach their system.
3. Cloudscalling: This one build huge cloud computing for governments, enterprises, etc. through an open source platform and at the same time they monitor the performance and economics.
4. Logicworks: This offers private cloud and their services are 6 cent per hour and their ability is that they roll bounce and start up ...

...this company’s website, as visiting websites are huge drain of resources so hosting a website on cloud combined with managed services allows us to focus on creating best web content. They provide scalability and availability when they are designed properly.
• Cloud computing services can be used for e-commerce as scalability and availability is crucial, even a single minute of down time makes us losing much revenue that too during peak holiday seasons. So using cloud allows us in utilizing additional resources and also on the other hand balances the load when compared to the traditional servers.
• For Customer Relationship Management (CRM) which is an important thing for any business. Salesforce.com can be used for CRM.
