I believe that both Kate and Andy, in their own way, followed Everett Worthington’s REACH model of forgiveness. They recalled the hurt, empathized with Conor, gave him the gift or forgiveness, were committed to that forgiveness, and held on to that forgiveness, to the point that they were his strongest advocates for a lighter sentence.
