Forgiveness and justice are very similar than we believe them to be. We believe that justice is
The one and only way to get even with the person who has wronged us and for us to feel safer.
At some moments justice and forgiveness are different also but for the most part they are
Closer to the same reason, and some stories can prove this. We go through our life learning that
Forgiving someone is a way to release us from the pain they have brought us. Justice can just be
Another reason for someone to give what someone deserves but at the end of the day is what
One person deserves really up to us? Do we get to choose how the person will live or die just
Simply of a choice they made from which they cannot run away from? It might have been

It seems forgiving is our last choice to someone who we hate or just don’t like.
Forgiveness can best be seen in a movie called ‘’Simon Birch’’ in which a young kid accidentally
Killed his best friend’s mother, and does not believe his friend will forgive him. During the whole
Movie Simon tries to move on from the past, but he soon realizes that no matter how hard you
Run, your past will always be there If you turn around to face it. Joe which is Simon’s best friend
Soon forgives him because he doesn’t want to lose Simon and also since he cannot change the Past so he choices to move forward and find his real father. This movie is important in showing
Us why forgiving is the best way but not always the easiest. Forgiving means not that you’re still
Angry but that you’re willing to let go of what is killing you inside and setting your mind free of
What you can’t change. Most people can’t do this since they believe what’s behind them was
Greater than what’s in front of them and they do not see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Justice is another big reason why someone is not able to move on from what

‘’Hamlet’’ in my opinion is the best
Example of this because Hamlet’s father was murdered by his uncle, which is a very good
Reason from him to seek justice on his very own uncle. Hamlet had every reason to have justice
On his uncle to make him feel the vulnerability his father felt when he was murdered and taken
Too soon. Justice eventually turned hamlet mad because that was all he was thinking about and
Did not care who got in his way or who had to die in order to get to his uncle. Hamlet killed his
Two closest friends just because they were trying to help him. Which shows that justice can drive
Someone mad and doesn’t give them any time to think of what they’re doing because they are
So driven by what they believe is the right thing to do and give the person what they deserve.
Sometimes it’s rare but there is forgiveness and justice for the person. This can be
Shown In the story ‘’what we plant, we will eat’’ in which the older brother doesn’t honor his
Dying fathers wish in which both brothers inherit the farm. The older brother kicks out the
Younger and keeps the farm for himself. As the younger brother savages for food he
She explains that people who have found it within themselves to forgive often receive a feeling of relief from their internal struggle. Callwood references many people who have forgiven "great injustices,"(165) such as a woman whose seven year old daughter was tortured and killed and Nelson Mandela. Other famous figures referenced by Callwood such as the Dalai Lama and Bishop Desmond Tutu also have been said to agree that people "should [be] forgiving for [their] own sake,"(163).These people are quoted in Callwood's work to provide structure and evidence to her
"Time heals all wounds." is a famous line in American history. I don't think that this is true. My line would be, "Forgiveness heals all wounds." I think that Forgiveness in a very important part of life. Without it, people can not move on with their lives. Let's take for instance a murderer and the family of the person he killed. The murderer may be sentenced to death. The family of the person who was killed could go in and watch the man that killed their family member be put to death. That may give them peace of mind, but they still can not completely move on. They must forgive murderer for killing the person before they can really move on with their lives. Once they do this it will be easier for them. A book that really illustrated this is The Scarlet Letter. In this book there are three main characters, Arthur Dimmesdale, Hester Prynne, and Roger Chillingworth. These three people either needed forgiveness or needed to forgive someone. Some got it, some didn't. Whether or not they received or gave forgiveness had a great impact in their lives.
The moment we learn to forgive and love is when we can begin to recover and move on.
The motivation and tendency of people to forgive others remains an important topic of discussion. In today’s society most people at some period have experienced feeling of un forgiveness towards friend, or relatives. “Forgiveness was defined as the ability to relinquish of resentment towards others” (Baskin & Enright, 2004, p. 80).
From the beginning he decides to run off on his own for no apparent reason and nobody does anything about it. This is the first sign that Simon’s mental stability is declining. It gets dramatically worse after the pig head is left for the beast. As he stumbles upon it he starts to talk to it mentally then realizes he is speaking aloud. Simon speaking aloud to the head is a great signal that he is officially insane. While the beast is talking to Simon it says “Fancy thinking the Beast was something you could hunt and kill” (Golding 143). From this Simon momentarily becomes sane when he realizes the only beast on the island is fear. Simon is the character with the least sanity but the reader can see that he is the only character that knows the truth.
Simon has a spiritual perception, a mystical connection to nature that none other characters possess. He also makes it clear that the beast real identity is the evilness which exists inside everyone. Finally, Simon treats other characters, especially the little boys with kind manners and shows interest in their well-being, contrasts to the cruelty of Jack and many boys who have let their savagery rule over them. After his death, Golding then shift the focus from Simon’s body toward the unchanging nature, such as the sun, moon, and earth that is because the character Simon, represents a knowledge as fundamental as the natural
Kelley’s (1998) analysis of forgiveness explains that there are three ways that individuals forgive: directly, indirectly, and conditionally. Direct forgiveness, i.e. “I forgive you,” is most often employed within a direct discussion about the transgression at hand. Indirect forgiveness occurs when the forgiver acts in such a way that implies forgiveness without explicitly sta...
Simon’s secret place in the jungle brings him comfort and peace. However, once he has the profound realization of the inescapable evil in every human, Simon becomes delirious and ventures into a clearing, where he finds the parachutist, and eventually the beach, where he is brutally murdered. This shows the escalation of the level of savagery of the boys on the island. It is no coincidence that Golding put Simon’s death in a place where he was vulnerable – out of the comfort he felt in the jungle. In the passage that describes Simon’s death, he is described as “a thing…crawling out of the forest. It came darkly, uncertainly” (Golding 152). This shows that Simon is not his true self when he is separated from nature, and that he was uncomfortable and confused. Simon’s good, genuine character is shown best when he is directly connected to
...This is when Simon understands that the boys all manipulated themselves, bringing about evil in themselves and the destruction of themselves.
Hamlet is Shakespeare’s most famous work of tragedy. Throughout the play the title character, Hamlet, tends to seek revenge for his father’s death. Shakespeare achieved his work in Hamlet through his brilliant depiction of the hero’s struggle with two opposing forces that hunt Hamlet throughout the play: moral integrity and the need to avenge his father’s murder. When Hamlet sets his mind to revenge his fathers’ death, he is faced with many challenges that delay him from committing murder to his uncle Claudius, who killed Hamlets’ father, the former king. During this delay, he harms others with his actions by acting irrationally, threatening Gertrude, his mother, and by killing Polonius which led into the madness and death of Ophelia. Hamlet ends up deceiving everyone around him, and also himself, by putting on a mask of insanity. In spite of the fact that Hamlet attempts to act morally in order to kill his uncle, he delays his revenge of his fathers’ death, harming others by his irritating actions. Despite Hamlets’ decisive character, he comes to a point where he realizes his tragic limits.
Although Simon's life was a short one and he did not have the time to go through much change, he proved that there was hope for being rescued.
There is usually a feeling of change and attitude that regards positive alternatives towards an offender. In this situation acts like vengefulness is overlooked. In short, contrary or deconstructive emotions are not included in the predicament. Forgiveness is one of the best elements of the pro-social emotions that assist in improving the mental position of an individual including the surrounding environment. Forgiveness also leads to peaceful environments. It is also described as a legal terminology for giving up all claims on the perception of debt or duty to do something (Kimonis et al., 1249). Forgiveness on social grounds is not considered in politics. This pro-social emotion gives a relief on things that cannot be replaced. The term is mostly used in religion. People spiritually understand why forgiveness is appropriate and spread it. Therefore, the mental situation of the kind person and the one forgiven is stable and at peace. Activities run well without fear of meeting the party one has offended. Thus freedom of mind and operation is restored. This implies that physical health, well being, of the human body is at peace too. Those who apply forgiveness many times achieve a lot because they save time in doing constructive
" Forgiveness undoes your own hatred and fees us from a trouble pass" ( Chirstophere Peterson)
This forgiveness does not absolve anyone of blame, but creates a space for future self-realization by refocusing the attention from the past to the present and future (Mahaffey).
A strong Christian lesson on the true nature of forgiveness can be found in Christ’s Sermon on the Mount:
