The problem is medical assistants don't get paid what they should. They have so many responsibilities but don't get paid like nurses and other higher professions. Medical assistants do just as much as nurses if not more and get paid around half as much as nurses get paid. Every medical assistant knows how much they are going to get paid when going into this field so it is a choice, that they chose. But it would be better if they were to get paid more for everything that they do. Anyways, In my own opinion medical assistants don't get paid what they should for everything that they learn and do in college and in their workfield. I'm not sure if this is true and I tried to look it up, but my aunt said that the American Association of Medical Assistants is trying to raise the pay of medical assistants to 18 dollars an hour. They are trying to level it out with nurses because they do just as much as a nurse. Anyhow, the solution to medical assistants not getting paid what they should is to give them a raise. Everyone works better with a raise anyways. They have a better mood, and attitude, etc. Many people may not see the pay as a problem because they like what they do regardless of the pay. But to some the pay plays a big role because of certain financial needs and problems that they may have. Things such as bills and children may play a huge part as to why medical assistants may need a raise. Not only medical assistants but just about every other profession in the world needs money for their children and bills but medical assistant barely get paid enough to make this happen.
