The word rapture does not appear in the Bible, simply it is a term often employed in concurrence with events relating to the Second Coming of Jesus. The meaning or definition of rapture is the mind that the coming of Jesus will take space in two separate phases. The initiative will be a secret rapture—or taking away of the saved to heaven—at the start of a seven-year period of visitation, during which the antichrist will come out. The second phase occurs at the close of this time of tribulation when Jesus will come back to Earth in triumph and glorification. After His resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven, and the disciples watched as He went up into the sky. The Bible states, “While they (the disciples) watched, He (Jesus) was packed up, and a cloud received Him out of their mess. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men (angels) stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into paradise? This same Jesus, who was studied up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner every bit you saw Him go into heaven’ (Acts 1:9-11, NKJV). According to 1 Thessalonians the date of writing was around A.D. 52 to a community of believers who had been Christians for only a …show more content…
Epistle of James,” 1989). To know the author of a book is to understand and appreciate better his writing. We do not have an abundance of information concerning the man James, but what we do know makes us feel that James is no stranger to us after all. And what is more, we as Christians know the divine Author of this epistle in an experiential relationship, which is the master key to our understanding of its message. James was a praying man, pure, powerful, practical, plain, persistent, humble, honest, single-minded, upright, and just. “James the Just,” (meaning James the Righteous, (Jensen’s 424-425). There is strong support that the epistle’s author was the last, named
Throughout the story of Rapture Practice many questions about religion and morality arise. As Aaron Hartzler, raised as a dedicated baptist since birth, matures, he discovers that his views differ from his parent’s and his church, and he struggles to come to terms with his beliefs. By finding a way to experience life outside of the house, Aaron realizes that religion does not necessarily make you an incorruptible person. How do religion and morality play into the themes of Rapture Practice?

But to fully grasp the entire surrounding context we must look at more verses in this chapter, to enable us to have a better understanding of what is going on here. In verses 1-4 the writer of Acts is writing to Theophilus and is speaking in the past tense about a time when Jesus was sharing with His disciples about the coming of the Holy spirit or the “promise of the Father.” This promise of God would not be accomplished until Jesus ascended into heaven. Then, in verse nine, Jesus ascends into heaven and in verse eleven the disciples’ question is somewhat answered when the men in robes say, “This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into
The word “rapture” does not appear in the Bible. However, the concept of a rapture event or a snatching away taking place is clearly taught in the Scriptures. I will show you why the Rapture is an event that we, as believers, should be anticipating and watching for, as it parallels that of an ancient Jewish bride waiting for her bridegroom's return for her. The Rapture of the church will be the event in which Jesus will remove the church from the Earth before God pours out His impending judgment of great tribulation. The Rapture is not to be confused with the Second Coming! At the time of the Rapture, Jesus will only appear in the clouds to summon for the removal of His bride, the church. It is described in the Bible as being an imminent event,
The timing of the Rapture in relation to the onset of the seven years of great tribulation is controversial. There are three primary points of view as to the timing of each. The Pre-Tribulation view is that the Rapture occurs before the tribulation period starts. The Mid-Tribulation view is that the Rapture occurs during the middle of the tribulation at the 3 1/2 year mark. The Post-Tribulation view is that the Rapture does not occur until after the seven years of tribulation. In Last Call for The Church, I will cover biblical prophecies, as well as the parallels to ancient Jewish wedding customs in the Pre-Tribulation view, because I can not imagine why God would want believers to go through a horrendous and unimaginable time that is described as being a time of great crisis. Think about that for a moment! Why would believers have to go through this awful time that is coming? Where is the reward for keeping the Commandments? Why would the church have to suffer like everyone else? God does not want us to suffer through this terrible time that is to come, and that is why He will send His Son like an ancient Jewish bridegroom to rapture us. The apostle Paul tells us in

The war between the Christ versus antichrist has been commencing for generations with tides of people churning and numbers fluctuating inconsistently back and forth. Who is to say what is considered holy or unholy? How is anyone to expand so far to say that many persons of God’s creation are of the antichrist? Jesus’s disciples could (and one did) elaborate on such as shown by John in his first letter, “who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son” (Nelson, 239). What does the statement mean? Is it bad to be considered of the antichrist as long as one believes in God and worships him? How has the antichrist affected the world? With research and supporting
Public perception of the Vietnam War and World War II influenced the creation of Apocalypse Now and From the City, From the Plough. Apocalypse Now helps to reiterate the public perception that the Vietnam War was a directionless, pointless war. The movie reflected the overall feeling of confusion about the war. The fact that many people were drafted into the war did not help the public’s perception. Others also believed that this was simply another way for America to assert its growing power. This is in sharp contrast to the overall opinion of World War II. This war was described as “The People’s War” and was seen as a fight for the greater good.
After his resurrection Christ spent some time with his disciples. Then he ascended into heaven. He will one day return from heaven to rule on earth as King.
Then there will be a time of great affliction and destruction upon on the earth. The view on whether Christ will physically reign on the earth for a thousand year is known as the millennium. Two theories are as follows: Christ will come and remove the church before the tribulation is pre-tribulation. The strongest evidence in the bible that supports the pre-tribulation view and the rapture of the saints is the biblical doctrine that Jesus Christ will return for the saints before the 7-years Tribulation periods. Matthew 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” And Luke 12:40, “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” Anything other than a Pre-tribulation Rapture predicts the Rapture, telling us that it will be unpredictable, imminent, without warning, and will be visible only to the saints.
Upon Jesus’ return after being crucified, he walked on the water towards his disciples. The disciples erroneously believed he was a ghost. Revealing himself to them he told them not to be afraid. Peter, being impetuous, told Jesus to prove it was him by calling Peter to come to him on the water. Jesus indulges Peter and calls him to come to him. Beginning to walk on the water towards the Son of God, Peter becomes afraid and starts to sink, calling to be saved. Matthew 14:31, Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Peter could see that it was Jesus and had already witnessed his power, yet he still had
